Sea Salt Grill

If you're in Virginia Beach looking for a nice place to have dinner, I recommend checking out Sea Salt Grill located in The Capes Hotel. With outdoor seating overlooking the ocean, and viewing of beach goers and families walking along the boardwalk this was very easy to relax at. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome.The Pungo Punch was delicious and refreshing, I was convinced to have two. For an appetizer, the steak bites were perfectly cooked and seasoned with a horseradish sauce for dipping on the side. Finally for my main entree, I got the fish of the day which was a large piece of flounder, fried and served with tarter sauce, French fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. This restaurant has good food at a great price that is slightly cheaper than other restaurants along the boardwalk.

It is a small restaurant attached on one end to the hotel's pool and on the other end to the boardwalk. The crab cake burger was quite fresh and served with potato salad. The fish was lightly breaded with crispy fries.

Before going to the beach, my friends and I got brunch at Sea Salt Grill! I got the crabcake benny and my friends ordered the eggs benny and a collection of sides (yogurt bowl, toast and eggs). The eggs were perfectly poached and doused on hollandaise sauce, but I wish that the hashbrowns were presented more nicely. The inclusion of some greens or some vegetables on the dish would have also improved the presentation. My friend didn't enjoy the cranberries in her yogurt bowl and felt that the whole bowl was very sweet. However, the view of the beach was beautiful and the food wasn't too bad.

Yellow fin tuna bites delicious and hush puppies were awesome too! Quaint little patio dining looking over the beach. Server was excellent!

Fun little grill, good food and service! I had a patty melt and my friend had She Crab soup and a BLT, yummy!

Total beach diner. Rain storm was coming so we sat inside at one of the two tables. Most seating is outside so we got lucky!! Hush puppies are sweet - delicious. Our kids ordered hot chocolates to warm up and they served it topped with whipped cream. Mixed drinks seem premixed I believe my strawberry margarita was really daiquiri mix but oh well only had one and it atleast had some alcohol in it. Food was great. I ordered fish tacos, only one tiny strip of fish in taco it could have used 3 or 4 for the price and would have been much better than mostly lettuce. However, they served a spicy avocado salsa with tacos that was delicious just wish there was more fish lol Cute little casual beach space

This little grill tucked away in the corner of a hotel on the boardwalk on 20th Street is a true gem. I had the flounder club sandwich, which was large and cooked to perfection. In fact, It's the best fish sandwich I've had outside the Florida Keys. There are only three tables inside and bar seating, with most of the seating outside-- but that depends on the weather. The fish was hot, the beer was cold, and I will be a return customer.

The grilled medium rare Ahi was great. The Mahi fish and chips was dry, crumbly and inedible. Crab cake appetizer was good.The coleslaw sides were fermenting and tasted like garbage. The ketchup has been recycled enough times that it tastes very stale.The waitress was nice and attentive.There's a lot of nice seafood restaurants in the area. This one is mediocre at best.

Had the Captain special, Flounder, Crab cake, fries and coleslaw. oh and hush puppies. It was done right and that crab cake awesome. My Service person was awesome and a great view of the boardwalk

We ate here for lunch and it was so good that we returned for breakfast the next day! Very small, I think most of the tables are outside, but there is very good umbrella coverage and a nice breeze since it's steps from the ocean! Both of our waitresses went above and beyond. When I asked if they had anything OTHER than an Everything bagel (I'm allergic to sesame)... the waitress went and FOUND a plain bagel. Menu items that we loved included the steak bites, the tuna bites, hushpuppies, and surprisingly, the parmesan crusted broiled fresh tomatoes! The Flounder sandwich was HUGE with a nice serving of fries. The wedge salad was plenty for two to share. Prices were very reasonable, especially for their fabulous location. We will be back!
