Sea Ranch Resort

I liked it. Service sort of slow. Amenities were a bit on the crusty side, old. But rooms clean, views with atmosphere and the pool was heated at night. All around good bang for buck.Review: 4

The view was terrific, and the live music at the restaurant was fun. Sadly, those are the only positive things I can say about this place. None of the elevators were in service, which is non-ADA compliant. The phone in our room didn't work. We mentioned it, but it was never corrected. There was also no information in the room about the local area or anything else, including the Wi-Fi password. A minor complaint, but at almost $400 per night I expect a little more than nothing. Our room felt skeevy and unclean. I had my husband check for bedbugs, which he didn't find, but that didn't keep me from feeling itchy the whole time. We personally didn't see any bugs but did hear other guests complaining that their rooms had roach problems. Maybe this is attributable to their housekeeping, which is non-existent unless you ask 48 hours in advance. 48 hours! They don't even replace bath towels - guests have to bring their used towels to the front desk themselves for fresh ones. Who has ever heard of such a thing?Just gross. We will not return.

We reserved our room at 11, and they were able to check us in early! Until the room was ready they let us park and enjoy the pool. The room was clean and the air conditioner was cold. Rhe pool area could have been cleaner, definitely had green mold on the walk ways

Rooms with a view, a pool, an awesome restaurant & steps to the beach. Staff were friendly and accommodating & helpful with local information. Definitely worth a trip for a NY'er. We'll be back.

Absolutely unacceptable. Infact, this place was gross. Mold and mildew everywhere. Started developing a headache and eyes started to swell. I'm a pretty laid back person, so I went to the front desk and said there was a bunch of mold and mildew in my room, and that I didn't think I'd be able to stay in that room much longer. He told me that if I decided to leave early, I could just leave my key card in the room. This room was a total health concern.black mold staring you in the face. I expressed this to the staff, and they had a "You don't like it, leave" attitude. When staff was completely uninterested in resolving these issues, I left and paid for another hotel. John Yancey. THAT was a good hotel.

Grounds not kept, dirty stairwells, broken elevator (told for 7 weeks), fly and nest invested patio at restaurant, old and dated; unit old with soiled couch, stained carpet, uncomfortable beds, ridiculous square for a pillow.It is clear that no maintenance or repairs have been completed for years yet charging top dollar. The owners clearly do not care about this property. Motel 6 is a better option than this resort.Adding fresh seafood and music two nights weekly is nice, but I would expect this at a resort. What about your grounds, units, etc.? Needs serious work before I return or recommend it to others.

Booked one night & decided to stay for another upon arrival. Ed at the front desk is incredibly patient, helpful & welcoming. Beach access before check-in was a bonus! Oceanfront room has a large balcony, comfy chair, table/chairs, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker...everything we needed. Access directly to beach from 2nd floor is the best part! Convenient to restaurants, attractions and markets. Don't forget to check out the Beachside Bistro at the hotel

3 star: Beds were so hard we couldn't sleep. I ask the lady at front desk if all rooms had the same mattress and instead of answering my question she said well you should sleep on my mother in laws bed if you think these are hard. Room smelled very musty and everything felt damp my clothes felt damp when I went to put them on. The boardwalk area that's right outside the restaurant that leads to the beach had trash and a dirty diaper that had been placed in the railing and never got cleaned up the whole 4 days we were there. Night person at desk was super friendly and accommodating. It was a very convenient location but don't think I'd stay again.

Cozy rooms, friendly staff, and a prime location make this hotel a great choice for travelers.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Sea Ranch Resort in May 2024. What I Liked: I liked the location of the motel. It's very close to the Wright Brothers Memorial, a Food Lion, and several restaurants. I liked that it was oceanfront and all rooms have balconies facing the ocean. What I Did Not Like: The hotel, in general, is run down. There are a lot of corrosion stains running down the exterior walls. The paint is old and worn. Inside our room holes were burnt in the curtains, the carpet was dirty, and in general, the condition was poor. The mattress was old and very hard. The pillows were also hard and thin. After the first night, my neck and back were in pain from the poor mattress and pillows. You have to go to the front desk to get fresh bath towels. Our stay at the Sea Ranch Resort was not a pleasant one. We will definitely look elsewhere for our next OBX trip.
