Sal's Pizzeria

I'm a really Italian from New Jersey and I've lived in Va Beach for 35 years because I was married to a military man. I discovered SALS PIZZA on South independence about 10 years ago and I know the original owner came from ITALY Naples I believe not for sure however I don't know why this got bad reviews but I can tell you SAL's is one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten in 35 years that I have been here. Now I know they sold it and recently renovated it and what not? I believe they are foreigners that bought it but it's to my understanding that they have to use the same recipe as Sal used, now I have not seen a change in the pieces. Because they are still very very good the place is always clean and I've gotten to know the lady behind the counter and she's very nice but I would recommend this place. I've had several things on the menu so I didn't like someone I did like, but the pizza is amazing and ICE 100% recommend this place.

$20 for chicken parm ($40 because I bought 2). It is NOT chicken parm. It is frozen chicken fingers with sauce and cheese. I expected chicken breast. Sal's refused to make it right. Steer clear!

This is hands down the best pizza on my area (lynnhaven salem area).I admit I used to be a Bella customer at Salem crossing but they changed some things up and I had to move on. I discovered Sal'z and I absolutely love it. Pizza is awesome! If you like a traditional NY pizza. This is it! Oh and the staff is amazing! Check em out

It's ok pizza, it's certainly not NY/NJ quality which is the gold standard. They forgot the garlic on the garlic knots which was a disappointment.

Pizza is pretty good for the area! I'mFrom up north so I'm use to authentic Italian pizza. My only complaint would be the customer service. There's been several occasions where I placed a order and I get there and they forgot to put the order in. Also, if they give an estimate time add at least a additional 25 minutes because it's never ready when advised. I've also had the wings, gyro and garlic knots which all were pretty good. Overall, good pizza for pretty good prices.

*Uber eats scam. One day, delivery fee is as advertised on Uber Eats (.99) and order arrived within 30 minutes in a bag, with receipt. Today, delivery was made by the restaurant ($4.91 fee) and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive. No bag, no receipt, just left on porch. Guy I spoke to had an attitude and said, "I'm busy" ... you can omit one less customer from your busy schedule, brah. Cal'z it is

Best place to come get a nice hot slice of pizza on the go or to eat in, If you ever happen to see Joe working, he is the best. very great place to eat. been coming here for years. can't complain one bit about this establishment. great tastes. great people. a good recommendation to eat here 10/10 love it here.

SAL'S IS CLOSED. Guess I shouldn't be surprised by this, considering my issues with them over the past few months. There are "closed" signs on the doors and the phone just rings and rings. I guess I'll never get the meal they owe me.

Order from the menu tonight, waited about an hour to get the wrong pizza.The manager said they no longer make that pizza, he had made ours, new it was wrong but couldn't be bothered to let us know before sending.I recommend going to ynot.Original owner needs to come back , or this place is going to be a taco stand

Absolutely disgusting! chicken Parm is breaded chicken and sauce and cheese! they gave me diced chicken over linguine! Ice cold order over 30 minutes late! I will never go back there! What a disgrace to Italians!
