We got there and were seated, our waitress came and took our drink orders. She had already brought us water. 10-15 minutes later she came back and saw that we hadn't gotten our drinks yet. She went to check on the drinks and came back and said we didn't get them because the keg blew. So we ordered a different drink, that took another 10 minutes to get. The bartender was running the drinks. We noticed that there was only 2 waitresses, there was a 15 top a 6 top and then 4 4 tops and a couple 2 tops. The waitresses were also busing tables along with the girl that was busing. A cook was running food along with the waitresses. So needless to say they were short staffed. So we then ordered our food, I ordered the bison burger and my husband ordered the catch of the day which was supposed to be flounder, that took about 45 minutes. It finally came, the bison burger which was supposed to have arugula (which I ordered without) Boursin cheese and a blueberry Tupelo bbq sauce , It came out with only a patty. I sent it back and the waitress came back and asked if I just wanted the lettuce tomato and onion. I said no, I want what's supposed to be on it the Boursin cheese and the bbq sauce. She said that's what she thought but the kitchen told her she wasn't right. So she went and told them that. She brought it back out, it was the same burger that the just threw a huge chunk of the cheese on, so it didn't melt and a huge piece of onion and tomato. It doesn't say anything about onion and tomato on the menu. Then she told me they were out of the sauce. I ate it anyways and it was ok despite the cheese not being melted and no sauce. My husbands catch of the day was ok, however it wasn't flounder. Ember was our waitress and she was very good, she was doing the best she could with what she had. There needed to be more staff and probably a manager there would have been good. Their instagram says that they are bringing in an outside consultant and I hope that helps, because as of right now we won't be going back.

Went out to eat for an early dinner on New Years Eve. It was a little hard to find as you can't see it from the street, but worth the visit. Great view of the waterfront and loved the interior decor and mix of contemporary and coastal design vibes. Excellent service from our initial SOS we can't find you phone call, manager/host/seating/server were all 5 starts! It's a hidden gem if you are visiting Elizabeth City, Intracoastal, or Camden NC. We ordered the Rockfish, Burger, dessert....all amazing! Omg!!! The duck sliders appetizer flew down from heaven....so delicious! A must order!!! We will be back!

Had the crab cake platter for $32. What a disappointment. The cakes were balls. They were good. No sauce or anything with them. The corn bread was over cooked and had no flavor. It was good, but for what I got charged, I've had better. Go for the view and drinks.

My husband and I are visiting this quaint city. The people are so nice. We can't wait to come back. Last night we had the pleasure to eat here! Our server was very attentive to our needs. My husband's chicken noodle soup and Cobb salad were excellent. My husband generally has homemade soup so he was quite impressed. I had the crab cake sandwich which came with a salad. The crab cake was delicious as was the salad.We went back tonight for some cocktails and had a nice visit with Sy and a few of the employees. Very nice place on the water! We highly recommend Sagos on the River!

The interior is very nice. Very clean and sleek, looks brand new... The service was good as well, but the food was very underwhelming and overpriced!I had the fried chicken w/ fries. The chicken was a bit below mediocre; mostly moist and very hot, but very much so on the bland side. The breading almost looked like it was a take on a corn bread type breading, but it had zero flavor and was hard, not crispy. The chicken itself tasted like nothing.The fries were frozen "steak" fries and had a weird flavor... hard to pinpoint, but maybe it was something that they sprinkled on them. Lacked potato flavor and didn't fee/taste like a "fry".Meals came with a small piece of drier than dry cornbread that was 100% flavorless.The location is fantastic being right on the water, but most everything going on inside is anything but... very disappointed.

My wife and I went there for our anniversary. It is a nice location on the water and outside tables are available. The the inside of the restaurant has been nicely decorated and arranged providing ample space which lends itself to a relaxed atmosphere. They have a nice selection on their menu including some interesting dishes of seafood, duck and pork belly to name a few. The cocktail menu and wine selection is also decent. All that said, the food was just not very good. I don't want to be rude here, but honestly it was all dry and tasteless. I ordered two small plates, one of duck and one was a pork belly dish. Two things that typically are moist and succulent. I don't know how you can serve duck when it is so close to being jerky. How do you let that leave the kitchen. I didn't complain and didn't send it back. I ordered another small plate of pork belly and it was, meh, nothing special. A little dry, not part of any real cohesive recipe. Just some slabs of slightly overdone, thick bacon. Thank goodness for the collared greens or I would've been hungry when I left. I give 3 stars because of the atmosphere, location and decent service staff. For the price, The food was one star.I hope the owner/manager read this because I like your restaurant and think EC needs one like yours. I think this is an easy fix. Stop overlooking the food. Learn to make some decent sauces to provide some moisture and seasoning to your dishes. Maybe some Low Country boil or oyster dishes. Have someone occasionally taste the food before it leaves the kitchen.

Stopped by on a whim Saturday and had the BEST smashed cheeseburger. Mac our waitress was prompt, engaging, and welcoming. Our food came out promptly and was perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself is very well designed and the outdoor space is perfect for dining or holding an event.

Nice atmosphere with a beautiful view outside to include outdoor seating. Staff are very welcoming and pleasant. I had chicken and waffles with cheese and grits as a side. The waffle was crisp just the way I like them. The only draw back for the chicken and waffle entree is that you really do not get a whole waffle. You get two squares opposed to a four section waffle which I am accustomed to when eating a waffle. Not complaining because as stated the food was GOOD.

Thanksgiving buffet was not good! Pumpkin pie was gross, turkey dry, collard greens were bland, gravy very peppery only thing on buffet that was worth eating was the mashed potatoes.
