Rudee's Restaurant & Cabana Bar

Went to Rudees for restaurant week and had dinner. The bar was full for the football game and a little noisy, so we sat in the dinning room in the lower section. Our server Danny was very polite and had great recommendations. I had the oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer and crab and shrimp pineapple pasta for my main course. Both were mouth watering. For dessert I had the in house made key lime pie. Best key lime pie ever. The Bloody Mary was very tasty but not too spicy. All in all I had a great experience, a wonderful view of the water, and delicious meal. 1000% recommend

My wife and I sat in the outdoor area on one of the "gliding tables" by the dock. We shared the Bang Bang Cauliflower Bites. She got a rum and Coke with a Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab Roll and I got a beer with The Topsail Tacos. Food was pretty good. We were taking our time eating and enjoying the ambiance. Suddenly, the waiter took our plates and drinks! We were told to go wait by the entrance. I wasn't done with my tacos or my beer! We were instructed to pay and leave immediately. I asked why and they said we went over our 2 hour time limit. What 2 hour time limit?!?! Apparently, the outdoor gliding tables have a limit of 2 hours.We understood, but wish somebody had told us beforehand.

I love the location and the cabana's. This place was recommended to me. Service was trash and food average. What made the whole experience terrible is our waitress Zaira. I ordered a lot of stuff. Spent about $125. When she brought my breakfast the eggs were cooked over easy. I kindly and politely said I ordered my eggs scrambled medium. She literally got upset and stomped off like a 2 year old!!! Then didn't come back to the table for a very long time. She got the manager and he brought the food out corrected. I asked my husband if I was rude because I know sometimes we can come off that way and he will tell me. He said absolutely not. I have never not tipped at a restaurant. I didn't give her a dime. I refused. She didn't even apologize. I doubt I will ever give back. That experience really bothered me. Over some eggs?! She was young. Probably too immature for that job. The outdoors part is the best part. I would give it a 0 but giving a 1 only because of the outdoor seating.The oysters rockefeller are awful! Don't waste your money. I think it's a better place to have drinks. The crabs were really bad too. The snow crab legs.

I decided to dine at Rudee's for my birthday a couple of weeks ago since it's one of my favorite places to for seafood in the area. We arrived a little before 8pm and it wasn't busy at all so we were able to be seated right away.Every year for my birthday, I love to enjoy raw oysters so that's exactly what I ordered along with the Rudee's Cocktail Shrimp (fried). Even though it wasn't busy, the food took a little bit of time to come out but we didn't mind. Once everything was served, I noticed that the raw oysters didn't look very fresh nor were they as chilled as they normally are so I was a little hesitant to eat them but they tasted okay. However, the fried shrimp was absolutely delicious and fried perfectly! My daughter ordered the crab cake sandwich and enjoyed her meal as well.I'm going to chalk the raw oysters up to it being later in the night but I hope if I order them again in the future, they will taste better. Other than that, I had an enjoyable birthday dinner and I will definitely be returning!

This restaurant was super cute by the waterfront with indoor and outdoor seatings, plus a side area that was filled with Cabanas. The food did not disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed every app and entree we ordered. The drinks were a bit strong, but I'm sure I'm the only one who would complain about that. Our server was great as well and very attentive. We sat outdoors and had a lovely ambiance complete with string lights. I would totally come back here again.

We stop here once a year when in town for a trade show and it's always good! Fresh seafood and outdoor dining available when the weather is nice. This time I ordered the fresh catch of the day which was Flounder I order it grill and Oscar style which had a generous amount of crab meat on top and was delicious, we also had crab cakes and calamari for appetizers and both were very good. Service was great too

This is a pleasantly located placed right on the water. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. There is a patio area that has super cool rocking style tables which is a fun element and a non conventional manner to normal table dining. As far as the food, it's decent but here's why it's only getting four stars instead of five... portion size compared to price. The portions are a little small compared to the higher prices you'll pay. Our service was just fine, our server was friendly, helpful and accommodating.

If you missed out on "Restaurant Week" here in Virginia Beach they do have them each year and it is growing in popularity! And this is one of them And I should have gone back again! It was delicious and great value. I ordered the clam chowder soup and lobster roll. It comes with choice of side. I'm telling you this was worth it!! And portions so generous plus it tasted great! What I love about this place other than the food and view is that there are 6 seating areas (main dining, bar, indoor veranda and 3 outside decks) Plenty of seating for everyone. Definitely will come back again!

Service was great but the food was underwhelming and overseasoned. Elly took wonderful care of us on a Sunday afternoon. There were 6 of us. 2 got She Crab Soup and Steamed Shrimp, 1 got Clam Chowder and a Caeser Salad, 1 got Biscuits and Gravy and I got the Tuna Tacos....and someone else got Fish Bites. None of us were raving. My tuna was overseasoned and the rest of the Taco was bland. Nothing special about old bay tuna in a tortilla with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Everyone that got soup did say it was good....she crab was thick. The steamed shrimp was WAY too seasoned. It was swimming in Old Bay. True seafood lovers want to taste the seafood and the seasoning should complement the seafood, not cover it up. Of course they are in a great location with awesome views. Even HH drinks were expensive. My screwdriver was tiny for $5.75. Ehhhh....I probably won't go back.

If you want off the main strip and Great seating on the inlet view, Rudee's has a good vibe, great food and a casual atmosphere. I had the blackened Mahi Oscar style and. Makers Mark Manhattan. I got the hise made Key Lime Pie to go and it was too good to stop eating. Smooth and creamy with mild tartness. I will dine here regularly on my trips into town.
