This was an amazing experience! Randy and Miles were wonderful teachers and guides. My 8 year old had a BLAST, got to ride along and even paddle herself some with excellent supervision and attention. The flat water tour was very low key and accessible for those who are not used to these activities. Felt comfortable the entire way through. I will recommend having something on your stomach and being hydrated esp on hot days, as with any activity on the water. Booking is easy, getting there is easy, the safety precautions are in place (life jackets, etc) and definitely worth the ticket price. Would recommend these guys and this activity to anyone looking for something fun to do as a family.

My sister and I were here in August and had a wonderful time. Neither of us have been Stand up paddling before but that was no issue. Randy and Myles were extremely helpful and showed us how to paddle kneeling down and standing up. It was very peaceful on the water. I highly recommend.

Amazing! Did the Dolphin Tour (2hrs) and the 1.5 hour intro lesson in the same day. The dolphin tour we did paddle boarding at 7:30a. We had a short lesson, surfed the waves, and paddled into the Atlantic! We saw some dolphins right by the boat! It was a fantastic and tiring experience. For the 1.5 hour tour we had a relaxing still water paddle and saw eagles, swam, and even did a little paddle board yoga. My mom (65) did both tours and had to sit down and rest on the wave tour but paddled the whole time on the 1.5 hour tour afterwords. I would recommend being a strong swimmer and wearing the life jacket if you do the dolphin tour as I (26) fell in 3 or 4 times. Randy was awesome! Bring cash to tip him because he is so great!

Randy and staff are the kind of people you treasure meeting. They take pride in their product and you can tell they enjoy teaching everyone from grommets to grannies how to paddleboard. The excitement they get will rival your own as you are taught how to stand up on the paddle board and enjoy a leisurely trip along scenic rudee inlet and out to the Atlantic ocean if its not too rough. If you are a couch potato or fitness, buff you will have a great time as they know how to provide you with just enough challange to make this the highlight of your visit to virginia beach. Afterwards, go right next door to Sam's and try thr double grilled chicken wings and some super fresh seafood. If you want to be impressed, sit at the bar in front of thebcooks and watch them work. Incredible. You will need a little healthy nourishment after Randy is done with you!

Couldn't be a more friendlier group of water enthusiasts running Rudee inlet Standup Paddle Board. The owner Randy keeps everything mellow and fun. From the basic paddle board lesson to the Sunrise Yoga these folks rock. If you haven't done this before then get out and give it a try. No matter your fitness level (yes even the biggest couch potato can do it...and enjoy it too) it's definitely something to try when you're with such fun and professional folks line these. 5 Stars!

Rudee Inlet Stand Up Paddle is 5-Stars All the Way!Randy, the owner/operator/guide is phenomenal. He's incredibly accommodating. We only had a short time in VA Beach and he worked out a schedule to get us on the water. The reservation process is a breeze too. I recommend texting him for a quicker response. What impressed my wife and I the most was Randy's encouraging instruction. We were both first timers but Randy made us feel like superstars. He was able to gauge how were were doing and craft an enjoyable tour. That seems to be the best part about Stand Up Paddle, it can be for everyone regardless of your athletic abilities. Just have confidence. What's the worst that can happen? You fall in and get wet; no big deal. One Tip: We noticed in the beginning our toes cramping, most likely from nerves, but splashing some water or dunking your feet in the inlet helped a lot. It just so happened we were fortunate to have a private tour with Randy. However, I have no doubt that he would give the same attention to a group of 20 that he gave to a group of 2. Randy is also a character and quite entertaining. I can see why everyone near the inlet that day waved and said hello to him. It was like stand paddling with the Mayor of Rudee Inlet! We loved his "leave it better than you found it" mantra too. His goal is to pick up at a piece of trash/plastic for each person out on a paddle. One of the highlights of the day was catching a glimpse of a bald eagle. Keep your eyes peeled, you may see one too.A few other tips:Parking is tough. I recommend arriving early. Get some suggestions from Randy on where to park.Have Randy take pictures! He does add a nominal fee but they are so worth. He'll post them up on his facebook page the same day!Mahalo Randy!

I have to thank Randy for teaching me to SUP years ago. Thanks to him I found something I'm lifelong passionate about. He was so nice- when he taught us my mom who isn't very athletic went out and he was mindful of the surf and how to accommodate her. He offered to go out SUP surfing the next day early early AM and taught me how to catch my first wave. One of the best and most impactful experiences of my life. Thank you! Now I own my own SUP and come here to paddle when on vacay, in addition to having a weekly summer hobby in occoquan. .

Had a ton of fun here, took my girlfriend out to visit Virginia Beach and decided to try paddleboarding and got paired with another couple for lesson/tour. Cannot emphasize enough how awesome of a guide that Randy was. He makes it really easy to learn and has a gift for getting everyone to have fun. Whether you are young/old, beginner/experienced, Randy makes everyone fit together and enjoy themselves. Knows the area so well, even pointed out where his family used to live. Knows the wildlife in the area too. Rudee Inlet is also really convenient in that Rudee Inlet Restaurant / Cabana is next door, has great food/drinks. Great way to unwind after the lesson. Would really love to come back when I'm back in Virginia Beach. Thank you so much, Randy.

I went paddle boarding with Randy and a friend a few weeks ago and we had the best time. Randy is a knowledgeable, skilled, and fun instructor. It was my first time paddle boarding and Randy set me up for success. He goes over proper technique and calms your nerves if your a first-timer like me. We stayed in the inlet and paddled to a nest of bald eagles, and even saw a fledgling testing out its wings. The group he'd taken out earlier that day went into the ocean and they saw dolphins! I am definitely booking another paddle board adventure with RISUP so I can try out paddle boarding in the ocean. If you see Alfonse, the bald eagle, on your RISUP adventure, say hi to her from me!
