Roma Ristorante Italiano

I'm new to the area. I think the first week here I ordered a pizza from Roma. It was good. A few weeks later we ordered another. I'm not sure how p**s*d the person was who cut my pizza but when we got home we discovered the pizza cut into ten slices in every conceivable shape. Some were square without crust, some had a crust and were 3 inches long. A few others were very narrow but the length of the whole pizza. I mean there was something for everyone. That should have been my last meal here but despite that ridiculous disaster the pizza still tasted ok. But this pizza was cut by someone who wanted everyone to know they were having a bad day. So that's my advice - you stick with pizza or Stromboli. They can handle that much. Then last night we got Italian food. One Stromboli and some Italian meals. When I arrived I was told my food wasn't ready and I had to wait. It comes out of the kitchen and I go home. I'm thinking at least it's piping hot. It wasn't. I don't really understand that. Just came out. Wasn't hot. Also it was awful. When I ordered I was asked what sides I wanted. It's funny they bothered to ask because I didn't receive any sides whatsoever. Like some genius put these entrees into a foil pan with no pasta, no vegetable. They looked anemic. Cold and anemic. The fried items were greasy. I ordered an antipasto. Didn't get it. So my advice is I guess you should sit there at their little bar and open up every. Single. Container. Of. Food. To make sure you got what you paid for. I called. I complained. They told me they would have the manager call me if I left my name and number. Won't be necessary. I will not be back. There's no need --- There's two other places in town that make excellent pizza. Their menu is enormous. I ordered eggplant rollatini which is called rollatini because it's sliced long ways & ROLLED. Not here. No they just pretty much put together a stack of fried eggplant and call it rollatini. Asked for cocktail sauce. Nope! None for you. To top it all off whatever my husband ate made him ill. So he's calling out sick today. The magic continues! I do not know why you are in the restaurant business if you just don't care about the product you provide. Time to retire.

Can't come to Tappahannock and not stop at Romas and get the famous cheesesteak sub. We also tried the Parmesan chicken which wasn't a hit. It was not flavorful. The bread that they give out now, please try something different like olive oil and oregano or just leave the bread in the back. The cafeteria rolls make it less authentic as well.

I continue to try this restaurant because so many of my friends love it, but it always fails. I ordered a medium rare steak once, it came out well done and it was not even chewable and I was in a hurry so I canceled the order and what they do is they tell you that the salad bar comes with your meal, and so when you cancel your order they still charge you for the salad bar to make sure they got money. This is something that came free with the meal and just because they messed it up they found a way to get money out of me. I then went back again and ordered pasta, it had absolutely no flavor! This is an "authentic" Italian restaurant I don't get it. The last time I tried it I ordered a seafood pizza which is very very pricey and once again no flavor. They were chunks of seafood and you couldn't decipher which was which because they all tasted the same. Just not good.

Waited 20 minutes nobody came to serve us even after walking to the front and asking twice. Employees move around like beached whales, zero communication and customer service skills.Lazy

Great place!! Love the food my favorite is the Stromboli and the customer service is always on point will definitely be going back

This place use to have better everything. Now it's sub par. The worst part is the bathrooms and overall cleanliness. Or shall I say lack of. I hate eating at places where it's dirty. You would be better off going somewhere else. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Great food, service was okay. My waiter was fantastic. He was attentive. Others tables grumbled about their waitress, and maybe she was new. I didn't stay long, but it was a hometown feel-type place.

OMG! What a culinary delight! This Roma knocks the other two out of the ballgame! Wonderful food, caring and kind servers. I'd post pictures, but we were too busy eating it to do the Facebook food photo! Wonderful! AND I'd go back for the rolls alone! I'm a bread freak, and could live on those! Husband had the BLT pasta with shrimp and scallops. He almost licked the plate, and he hasn't had an appetite for months! Unreal how good it was!!!! Amanda was a terrific waitress, too!

We have been going there for years. My husband since the 70's. It used to be good. The pizza was so cheesy and flavorful. It has really gone down hill over the last couple of years. Hardly any sauce and very little cheese and we order with extra cheese. The last two times were awful. It's sad when restaurants cut back on the quality of their ingredients to save a buck. We will not be going back.

We were disappointed. Ordered the veggie pizza and got a cheese pizza w raw vegetables thrown on top. The worse pizza I have had in my life! Looked like they just got a few handfuls of stuff off the salad bar and threw it on without cooking! The place was empty on a Saturday night, I can see why!
