Roadside Bar and Grill

This place was not our first choice, but it ended up being great. All the food spots in Duck fill up quickly, and we found ourselves walking around looking for a decent spot to get a drink and some lunch on a rainy morning. We had an absolutely delicious plate of fresh shrimp. The shrimp were large and delicious. So fresh! My husband got a fish sandwich which hit the spot and my fish tacos were delicious. Drinks were also good and refreshing. This place is a very solid lunch. The ladies serving were a bit overwhelmed with patrons, but they did a good job keeping up. Great option if you're up in Duck and need a quick lunch or dinner!

Stopped by Roadside Bar for dinner with a group of friends. They have a covered outdoor seating area and an indoor seating area. We were quickly sat.Their menu is pretty limited and doesn't offer much variety in my opinion. I was able to try several dishes on the menu.Clam Chowder: This was pretty disappointing. It was served lukewarm and lacked any strong seafood flavor. Carolina Muddle: looking at this on the menu, I thought this would be solid. It was a pretty light Cajun flavor and needed more of a kick and spice. We added hot sauce afterwards which made it a little better. This was just okay. The clams tasted off to me. It was definitely a muddle. I had a bite of the duck and that was by far the most decent dish on the menu. My friend ordered it well done and it was still tender.This was a pretty average and disappointing meal. Everything tasted under seasoned and mid. For the price point, I expected much better in taste and amount of food.

Came here to enjoy Roadside's outdoor area for some music and good vibes when Coastal Cravings was too packed for our liking. It's a little off the beaten path which meant we had the place mostly to ourselves. Similar to Coastal Cravings, this spot has ample outdoor space, games, hula hoops and more for kids to run around with and enjoy. It also has a full bar with a focus on beer, cider and hard seltzer options. Service is swift and prices are decent. I will say that seating options here are a little less comfortable than what you find at Coastal Cravings. Out of every outdoor spot we visited on our trip here this was the place that I got bit up the most by bugs, so make sure you pack your bug spray if you're planning to spend time here.

Had a good ole time at Roadside Bar and Grill out in Duck, NC. Pretty much a quick drive or bike ride if your staying at one of the beach houses. My group very much enjoyed our meal. Seafood was in abundance at this dinner. Favorite dishes were the Carolina Muddle and Clam Chowder. Chowder was so good that we had to get a bowl to go. Service was good. Our waitress was super fun and knew the menu well. Made some great suggestions for the more indecisive people in the group. This place has a back area filled with bars and live music. Didn't get a chance to go in but it looked like people were having a rockin time.

Turkey wrap and pasta salad were both yummy. Clam chowder was great too! Waitress did great with our big group.

Was recommended this place from a local fireman and man it did not disappoint. We had a lovely experience here and such a sweet waitress who killed it with our large party! Food was delicious and very flavorful! Calm chowder was small but packed with spices and so yummy. Bathroom is quite the experience though...curtain stalls major throwback to the 1960s but cutesy

The food was delicious and the service was fabulous!! If you're lucky enough to have Claire be your sever, you are in for a treat!! She was perfectly attentive and so pleasant - it truly made the evening SO enjoyable. Thank you, Claire!!

I remember liking this more in the past. On my most recent visit I am sorry to say I was sorely disappointed. As others have noted the food takes soo long. I don't know if it takes longer if seated outside? The other two times I sat inside and the service was pretty fast; this time we were outside and all the tables seemed to be waiting forever for their food. The food was okay - I got the pad Thai with shrimp and the noodles were way too sweet. I noticed a lot of crossover between dishes, for example the slaw on my dining companion's fish tacos is the same slaw they use for the tuna sashimi. The aioli on the fish tacos tasted and looked like tzatziki, so I'm sure that was re-purposed as well. The fish and shrimp were good though. All in all just okay!

Excellent service and good food. Right on the main drag in Duck. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the main restaurant of Tomato pie with greens, salad and the Vegan Thai entree. All 3 were delicious and perfect servings. Everything was so good, we returned to enjoy the back bar for Mark's Bingo. They have a really cool outdoor bar that has a great seating set up and a full bar. Limited menu outback but you can order from the regular restaurant menu too. They have live bands 3 days a week and other fun events. Definitely a regular stop on Duck visit.
