A fine two story FREE art gallery with plenty of variety to suit all of your abstract and figurative taste. You may buy most (if not all) of the pieces-the prices are listed next to the piece. A lot of the pieces have won awards. When I went the owner/artist was working on a sculpture. The staff are very friendly and let us take our time walking around. Go and enjoy it was a treat!

I've driven past this gallery for years and I've always wanted to visit. I usually passed by after business hours unfortunately or when they are closed on Sunday. The other conundrum was missing the location. I got out of work early and was very much intent on visiting so I drove very slowly looking for it and I still missed it. So watch carefully and put your turn signal on early.I'm so glad that I finally made it here. The amount of beautifully crafted fine art on display astounds me. There are so many pieces in here but it does not feel overwhelming or cluttered in this multi-level gallery. The art is varied, so many different mediums and subject matters. The art is stunning, beautifully curated; I'm in awe of the skill of these amazing artists and disappointed that I haven't come sooner. What did I miss on display 6 months ago? A year ago? After an inquiry, the lovely lady at the front desk informs me that the items on display partially turn over about every three months, and after 6 months pretty much everything is new. I'm really excited to see what will be here later this year.I appreciate Deborah taking the time to chat with me twice, upstairs she gave me a little background on an artist whose work I was admiring (Jordan) and downstairs chatting about my background and my desire to be more creative and do more art.If you are an appreciator of fine art come in and peruse. If you are looking for a beautiful piece for your home, office or for a gift come prepared to buy.Pieces most liked from visit#1: Turtle Sea, Finnesse, and this lost wax cast bronze woman/angel on a rotating base (she's on display twice because she can be cast with or without wings).

This place is amazing! The art is beautiful and ranges from about $200-12,000 for original paintings and sculptures. The art is diverse, original, and beautiful. It is also arranged expertly so each piece is displayed with art that compliments it. The prices are all listed clearly (no "if you have to ask you can't afford it" snobbery here!). There is also jewelry and blown glass in the $20-$100 range. The employees and owner were all very welcoming and friendly and made it clear there was no pressure to buy anything. I will come here any time I am in VA Beach!

Stopped here as my artistically inclined niece wanted to check it out. In the gallery they were rearranging some pieces, but the ladies were more than happy to show us around, even taking time to share with my niece their process. They had some great sculpture to look covering anyone's tastes. Lots of painting and other mixed media artwork from various other artists as well. It's well worth the stop to soak up some visual stimulation.

We attended a retirement party here over the weekend and were impressed by the place. It is quite spacious and laid out over two floors with a mix of paintings and sculptures throughout. Richard Stravitz, who produced most of the sculptures on display, was there mingling in the crowd most likely trying to entice potential buyers. My wife has the better "artiste" eye and zoomed in on a couple of paintings that were quite stunning. While they certainly were gorgeous to look at, the practical side of me couldn't get past the price tags, which ranged anywhere from $3500 to over $10,000. One of the paintings was so massive that it would require us to buy a new house just to display it.So, when we win the lottery, we have decided to buy that display house and fill it with the contents of this gallery because that just sounds like something rich people do to impress the plebeians. We will keep all of the nude paintings and sculptures behind curtains to keep it family friendly.

Wow, I was blown away by all the sculptors, painting, crystal jewelry, and paintings. The sculptors at first sight talked back as you starred into the intricate detail of each piece your imagination would take me on a journey with a story of what the piece was thinking or conveying with enthusiasm. The paintings glistened with color and texture that sparkles to the human eye.

Friendly staff and two floors of incredible fine art - so diverse in selection, a pleasure to stroll around and jettison into a series of segmented rooms (this venue is deceivingly large and so cozy at the same time). The sculptural works are the best around, as Richard Stravitz is known for impeccable detail in expression and form. Kudos - this is certainly the finest art gallery in Hampton Roads!

I absolutely LOVE this gallery! Every time I come in here, I see something new and inspiring. There is so much talent displayed in one space...you have to experience it for yourself! Everyone in the gallery is friendly and knowledgeable. On top of that, coming in and learning how Richard sculpts his bronze pieces in his open studio is absolutely fascinating! This is definitely the place to go if you're looking to invest in fine art.

The Stravitz Galleries are a fabulous place to while away an afternoon even if you are not in a shopping mood; although you likely will be by the time you're ready to leave!! On Laskin Road you will find everything from one of a kind, handmade jewelry and glass to works by an American Impressionist. There are prices to fit every wallet and the staff is knowledgeable and entertaining. During my recent visit, I ran into someone looking for the ultimate piece de resistance for her home that is on the Garden Club tour this year (she found it!!)Walking into the elegant space makes the chaos of the outside world fade away. An added bonus is that the man himself, Richard Stravitz, Master Sculptor, works daily in the on-site studio and really seems to enjoy interacting with patrons and discussing his process. His bronze sculptures and skill with the human body will delight the art lover, sports enthusiast and those who simply love to see excellence in any form. Just down the road on 30th Street and Pacific Avenue is Stravitz's second gallery. The vibe is funky, beachy and more casual than the Laskin Gallery (not that you need to get dressed up and carry a 5-pound wallet to visit either place!) It is a wonderful venue to get to know local artists and indulge your need for all things surf and sand.
