Grounds not maintained- people smoking pot at every hole, no management or customer service around , surprised the place is still open

Pretty course, from afar. The greens were atrocious. Festooned with crabgrass, it was a putting nightmare. Probably a great course to take people who aren't very good, but let's face it, it is goat track.

This course was recommended as it was closer to our location on the beach.We were able to get an earlier (8 am) tee time on a Thursday a couple of days ahead but clear they were all booked.We had 3 in our group and were paired up with a single which worked out nicely.They were having some issues with their card machine but it was worked out by the time we got to the turn.Course was forgiving, mostly open although they had some water throughout and mature trees which made for some scenic holes. Greens were mostly in good shape. They have a driving range and a decent sized putting green.Prices were reasonable at about $50 per person including rental clubs.They have a small grill that offered a light breakfast and lunch and some goods/equipment for sale in the pro shop.Course attendant was friendly and as well all in the Pro shop. A good option about 15 minutes from the beach (35th)

Came here this morning for nine holes. We got stuck behind an accident on the way and called ahead to let them know we were running a few minutes behind in case we needed to reschedule our tee time and my wife was told it was no issue. Greeted by very friendly staff when we checked in and got our cart but while waiting to tee off on the first hole, the starter came over to make sure we were who we said we were. My wife and I were very friendly with him while waiting to tee off but he was incredibly rude stating that his day was ruined because "people can't show up on time" and reiterated it a second time before we teed off while he sat there smoking his cigarette and scowling at us. I'm sorry there was an accident that we had zero control over but we called in advance to attempt to mitigate it or at the very least notify them. I'm not a pro, I golf in the 90's and my wife just started learning, but I understand the importance of a tee time and that's why we called to make sure it wouldn't interfere and it sets a negative tone for someone wanting to come out and have a little fun while learning when an employee wants to be rude before we even get started. Not sure why some retiree working on a golf course needs to take such offense to it when no one else there did. Other than that, it was a beautiful day and the greens were in good shape. Will definitely return, but staff could use some attitude adjustment first thing in the morning.

This was my go-to golf course for the many years I lived in Virginia Beach. It never felt too crowded, the course was forgiving but had some challenging holes that could swing your score from par to +18 from one day to the next. The greens always suffered a little bit at Red Wing but it was a fun course to play and was maintained to allow for a decent speed of play. This is a great place for a group outing with the guys.

This is a decent track! The prices are good, and the staff is very friendly. I play here every time I visit Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

Teed it up there early Saturday morning for a going away outing for one of my best golf buddies. I've always been a fan of this place. They have a practice putting green, chipping green and driving range --- all large enough for several people to practice and not be all over each other. The course is always in great condition and is one of the longest and most challenging tracks in the area.They just did some renovations to the clubhouse. Decent design at best; simple and what you would expect at a city course (now privately owned). They have a decent selection of products to buy in their pro shop. Not a place where you can hang out for a long time since seating is limited but large enough to call all your bets while munching on a hot dog.What I hate about this place (and most golf courses) on lakes are the bugs. I've never seen a mosquito soooooo big in my life!Outside of that I'll be back to this course to sling some golf matches!

Great Golf Course personnel, a very friendly and helpful, horses, well-maintained, and practice facilities. Excellent would recommend this course to all fellow golfers.

Course is in rough shape. Very dry and greens are burned up. The layout is fun but conditions are horrible!

Course has a nice layout. Fairways are junk and the rough is to thick. Greens are in poor shape, maintenance of the course is horrible. Wasnt worth $33.00
