This is a nice spot for breakfast with a Filipino flair. I've been coming to VA Beach for years, and I just recently discovered it. Be prepared for a wait on weekends, as it does get busy, and the restaurant itself is small with limited seating. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I ordered the No Way Ray Ray, while others in my group tried the Lechon Pork Belly and the Ube Waffle. The No Way Ray Ray was unique--fried chicken on two biscuits, topped with Longganisa gravy and other ingredients. Personally, I found the gravy to be one-note and didn't add much besides moisture, but the sriracha drizzle helped. The Lechon Pork Belly was tasty, though the portion size could be improved. I love anything Ube, so I was excited to see they offered both pancakes and waffles. The waffle was good, though the strawberries were on the sour side. The prices are a bit high for a stack of Ube pancakes or waffles, but they're worth trying. We waited about 25-30 minutes for our food, which makes sense given the likely small kitchen. The atmosphere is lively, with tables close together, it can get loud, but it's a great place to catch up over a satisfying brunch.

My family and I have been looking forward to watching at RR for the past couple times we've visited VA Beach but due to circumstances, they weren't open when we visited. First initial thoughts: we love the vibe of this small little restaurant. But because of the size, seating area definitely felt tight. Our server let us know right from beginning that there would be a wait on food due to shortage of staff. I'm all for waiting for my meals as long as I know they're worth it. And working in the restaurant industry, I always prefer quality of food over quickness of getting out. So waiting didn't affect us too much. I appreciate the choices of Hawaiian and Filipino options. After downing our meals, I would say that the meals were good, but nothing that hit out of the park. Good enough for us to visit again and try other dishes to give them a shot.

Sophia and I stopped here at this Virginia Beach location out on the Oceanfront for breakfast. They've been here quite a while and are popular for their Filipino and Hawaiian dishes. It's small, but was very busy as we saw once we walked in. Luckily, we snagged a table just when they were nearly packed. It was quite loud, but it's Memorial Day weekend so you know they were gonna attract a crowd but inside and out. And they have a bar once you walk inside the building. After a few minutes of looking through the menu (and having some coffee for myself), we were ready to order. Both of us ordered the No Way Ray Ray, which is their take on biscuits and gravy. They are topped with fried chicken (a boneless thigh), Longganisa gravy, eggs (I picked scrambled), cheddar jack cheese, green onions and a sriracha drizzle (Sophia had hers with hard fried eggs and no sriracha drizzle). I'll be honest here. I didn't imagine it would come with brown gravy, which tasted a little sweet. And the fried chicken was coated in cornmeal instead of the usual all-purpose flour. But after a few bites, I gave it thumbs up. All the ingredients ended up coming together with each bite. And everything was cooked very well. To have the sriracha bring somrme heat was a nice touch. Not overpowering at all. This right here was worth coming to. You know you've run into a hidden gem when you see a crowd like we did. Even the owner Ray Ray stopped by to check in on us. Huge plus in my book. We'll definitely be back :)

I really enjoyed our time at Ray Ray's. We went on a Sunday morning which, of course, is a busy time. We were able to get seated outside in no time. Although, we did wait about 10 minutes to get our order taken. But fair enough, they are understaffed and need more hands to help! So if you're looking for a job... definitely hit them up. :)We kept our order pretty simple since we didn't come starving. My brother order the avocado toast which was loaded!!!! Packed with so many things that filled up his belly. He said it was really good. I got the ube pancakes to share with my daughter... who ended up not even eating it and only ate the fries. lol. The ube pancakes were moist. I loved how there was coconut flakes on top to add some texture in every bite! The POG mimosa is absolutely delicious. I recommend that! My brother got the Ray Ray's Signature... with ube... but he didn't like it because it was too powdery. The guests eating behind us also didn't like their ube drink because it was too powdery. I hope to see Ray Ray invest in a different way to add in the ube flavor to drinks... I know nothing about the supplies but if there is a liquid form of the ube flavor... that's probably the solution here. But truly, who am I to say? I literally know nothing about the availability of restaurant supplies and budgets. lol. Overall, I'd come back!!!! Next time, I'll come more hungry so that I can get myself a savory Pinoy-Hawaiian dish.

A weekend trip to Virginia beach and came across this brunch place. They have alot of options on their menu. Greeted upon entrance, the tables looked all occupied. I went during easter weekend when it was busy but managed to get seated at a table. It was a bit noisy in the restaurant cause of family and big groups.I ordered the ube spam and eggs sliders and the ube waffles. The sliders was good. I didnt expect the sliders to be full sandwich size. One is more then I can eat! haha. I would say they give you plenty of eggs in the sliders but I love eggs. The ube breading was not as I expected didnt have much flavor to it besides a bun. The ube waffle was different but was good. I thought it would come out a little crispy but it is soft and moist.Next time am around the area am going to try there other food on the menu.

We returned to Ray Rays as a must revisit for breakfast after our great experience last year. Last year we ordered way too much food, and tried to limit it a bit more. Our server was charming and helpful with the ordering process. My husband ordered the Western omelet, link sausage ( after being disappointed that the Filipino sausage was not available) two lumpia and 1 ube pancake. I ordered the pork belly with rice and gravy and two eggs over easy. Everything was delicious and the portions are very generous. It has a laid back island vibe and close walking from our hotel.

This experience is delightful. We came because it was a recommendation and because it was my daughter's birthday. So we reserved seats for 7 people. We have to wait but we had fun taking pictures outside and it was good weather till we were called in. They do have outside seats but we opted for inside sitting and we were seated right away and met by the owner Ray. That was a star for me. The place was clean and seating were well placed. They have a well stocked bar in the front. The waitress was a bright smiling young lady who is knowledgeable of what she is doing and offering. Our orders were taken and delivered fast. Now let's talk about the food. Wow! I'm very impressed. I love it all. The pork belly was so good. Every each one of them. The ube pancake not so sweet, just right. The ube sliders were so satisfying in my stomach and with 3 of them, I was so happy to share to let them have the experience too. All their food was so good. And the cutest thing is they have a carousel of difference sauces by "you got it!" Ray brand. Their menu were well chosen and given cute names. Btw, the restroom is part of the Hotel but is exclusive for Ray ray's at The Mayflower and it is clean. Definitely had fun and enjoyed all the food. Definitely coming back.

First time here and the service was great. I loved almost everything I saw in the menu. Lots of Asian comfort foods. Mostly Philippine/Hawaiian, but things like the rice, Spam and pork belly always hits home for me. Only complaint was portion size, being Asian I am just use to seeing larger portions of anything given to us at home. That said, it was still tasty. Our server was the owners son and he was super friendly and sweet. At the end of the meal, he even gave our table one of his Aunt's ube cookies she made....so good!

Ray Ray's has been around for awhile and I'm kind of surprised I haven't made my way out here sooner. A Filipino inspired brunch cuisine is an awesome idea as Filipinos are known to have hearty and savory breakfasts. It is located at the Oceanfront in Va. Beach inside the Mayflower Apartments. Just beware that parking is scarce and hard to find so plan accordingly. It's just the nature of the Oceanfront unfortunately. The interior is kind of cramped and not the best for huge groups. The bathroom is also a ways away as you have to go inside the apartment complex which kind of has a weird smell. That's out of their control though. Anyways, we ordered the No Way Ray Rays and the Longanisa platter with a side of corned beef hash. The No Way Ray Ray had a five spiced seasoned chicken piece on biscuits with longanisa gravy and eggs. Boy oh boy did it hit the spot! The longanisa gravy was super flavorful and the eggs put a nice touch on it. The longanisa platter was pretty good as well but I prefer a classic longanisa sausage in my humble opinion. The corned beef hash was cooked and seasoned well with no complaints! I would genuinely say it's a hole in the wall place as the food is delicious! I would definitely recommend Ray Rays and we will come back to try other things on the menu!

Uncle Ray Ray brings the business. This popular joint serves some of the best comfort meals in VA beach, hands down. Everything on the menu is amazing so you will indeed have a hard time deciding what to order! Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is bright.I love their Filipino menu, and if you like ube, they got a ton of purple greatness to satisfy your hunger and your social media. They have homemade hot sauces, including an ube purple yam one.Don't miss out on the Ube Pancakes!
