I had physical therapy at Sentara next door, so decided to try the one week pass. I've been several days this week and must say that I have been pleasantly surprised. If I didn't already have 6 months left on my membership at the rec center I'd seriously consider joining this one. Unlike at the rec center, the pool here has a deep end, which allows me to aqua jog. They also have two dedicated "therapeutic lanes" that are heated to 90 degrees. Double win for me there. While the cardio/weight room is admittedly a bit small, I didn't have a difficult time finding an open machine and the 30 min time limit isn't enforced. They have spin bikes, not just stationary bikes which is a win for me! They also have two nice stretching rooms with stability balls, stretching bands and foam rollers.I actually found the locker room to be quite nice and the showers private and spacious. The price is a little higher than the rec center, but unlike the former it includes all classes. I must admit that the bike class I took was a little bland and I was the youngest person by a few decades, but maybe the afternoon classes attract more young people lol.Overall would be at the top of my list for gyms in Williamsburg, but Onelife in NN reigns surpreme for me on the Peninsula.

There are no good things I can say about this Y. I'll just list the chief complaints I feel are worth noting: The tiny weight room and shared equipment room is occupied all day by a geriatric physical rehab practice. You can expect long waits and a ton of "priority" rules. The pool lifeguards are snotty and often flat out rude. The locker rooms leave a lot to be desired. They're not as clean as you'd think, the lockers are really beat up. The family locker room is the worst offender. It LOOKS like it was built for toddlers. Yikes. The summer camp is not anything I'd put my dog in, let alone a child. Overpacked, over scheduled, counselors who text and use their phones nonstop and ignore the kids. The gym is scorching hot and smells like dirty feet. Just don't...don't send your kid to this summer "camp"Lastly, the hours stink! If you want to use the gym after 8pm or on the weekends, join a real one Bottom line: this Y is more or less a Sentara geriatric physical rehab center.

I love this place! I'm mostly giving it 5 stars because the staff In the child watch area were so friendly and my kids loved being there. I went in the middle of the day and it was very busy but I'm sure if I go earlier it wouldn't be a problem. Will be returning.

LOVE this place. The absolute best childcare staff you could ever ask for. They take your kiddos and treat them like their own. Could definitely use a bigger weight area and more equipment. Love the classes available.

Peaceful atmosphere. Gym area/weight room is a bit small, which could be a problem if you're trying to get a lift in during high demand hours. Basketball court is nice. Locker rooms clean. Friendly, helpful staff.

I have been a member now for almost 3 years. This location continues to go downhill. The ladies locker room is never clean, this week two out of the five stalls do not work they have "out of order" signs on them.Their are ceiling tiles missing half the time there's no paper towels and their were small black bugs flying around the shower areaThe slide for family swim is out of order now for about 6+ monthsTheir are between 10-15 members that take water Aerobics Monday Wednesday and Friday at 8 am.And the Y has decided that due to the regular teacher being out due to surgery that they don't need to-replace with another teacher. It's sad that the current management staff just really doesn't care about their paying customers.
