Stumbled across this amazing local gem while we were in town visiting our family. From the moment my brother and I walked in, we knew we'd be back. Dylan was amazing. So attentive to us and answering questions. He goes above and beyond to share his passions and wealth of knowledge. We will be regulars moving forward! Thanks Dylan

This is a super cute locals spot!In a small, charming home, located right in between Sawdust Road and The Bee and the Biscuit, you can have a coffee or brunch and saunter over to shop. I like the vibe inside and we were immediately greeted by a guy on the front porch cleaning up a board. They sell several used boards of all kinds and have a back room with tons of sizes and options. They also have surf gear, sandals, skateboards, stickers, local homemade SPF, board wax, some jewelry, you name it. They give beginner surf lessons and also have classes.

Just stop in to check the place out, owner was super cool, chatting with us and sharing surf stories. Check it out even if you don't surf!!

I planned my trip to Virginia Beach to avoid corporate tourist traps. I was fortunate to find Sandbridge and the Pungo region. Nestled among the Mom and Pop shops and fruit stands is the Pungo Board House. In the past two months I have been into surf shops on Oahu and Maui. This awesome little shop is everything I had hoped. Not only was the selection of new and used gear huge, the board house has a soul..a vibe that only local surf and skate shops can earn. Austin, our laid back but incredibly knowledgeable surfer/cashier/spiritual guide answered all of my family's questions and made us feel at home. We will be trying their surf lessons for my entire family this week. If you're in the area, I highly recommend feeding the local economy and stop by the best little surf shop in Virginia Beach.Update**** June 27, 2018. I returned with my family to pick up some gear. Happy to find that it's still the same. Austin recognized me when I walked in. We arrived about 20 minutes before their closing time and hung out until well past. Never hurried or hassled, we picked up some great gear. They always have local made items like soaps, oils, and jewelry. The Pungo Board House shirts are conversation starters everywhere. If you're coming to Virginia Beach, take home a piece of Virginia Beach...not some mass produced corporate trinket. Come to the Pungo Board House and put your money in a local family businessUpdate-June 30, 2020The little area of Pungo continues to grow and in some places... it looks like corporate money. But Pungo Board House hasn't changed a bit. Still the best little surf and skate shop in Virginia Beach. Avoid the slick packaging and corporate programming of the bigger " chain" stores and find your way to Pungo. Buy some farm raised local fruits and vegetables and fresh caught seafood. Best way to support local business and experience the best kept secret in Virginia Beach. Feel the love...feed your soul

Great staff who helped me pick out a new board that would last and fit my style. The decorations in this place are on point and it has a very friendly feel to it. Would definitely recommend stopping by this place if your in VA.

Awesome surf lessons/camp! My 7 and 12 year old loved it. Lucas is so good he is patient and enthusiastic and careful! All the younger helpers were also really good at encouraging the kids and helping them get back out to Lucas. I can't wait for next year!

Bought two used boards from Pungo board house, Dylan gave me a great deal and gave me a lot of great information since I'm brand new to surfing. Definitely going to recommend this surf shop to people and I'll be back to do lessons with them in the future!
