Lovely local market with a huge selection of wines! Short on time? Having company? The prepared foods are incredible! Ready to go and fully stocked, these meals and sides are gourmet quality! Yes, you may have to pay a bit more but IMO it's worth the convenience! A man welcomed us in a rather stoic way. We were intrigued by the lounge in the back where we saw several patrons on their laptops. Nice, warm ambiance. I'm looking forward to feasting on one of their fresh salads and entrees soon! And of course, I'll have to pick a bottle of wine for my Meal!

Owner Wayne Thornton knows his fine wine and good smokes, and turned his personal passion into an aficianado's paradise.This store has a clubby lounge area where you can catch a smoke and lots of artfully displayed wine glasses, racks, and accessories, as well as a fine selection of domestic and international bottles. They have an excellent selection of the best Virginia vintages and Thornton knows them well, as he visits wineries throughout the state regularly.

Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in getting the perfect selection! The shop makes me want to drive an hour out of the way just to purchase the perfect bottle. Also they are very pet friendly, which I think that alone makes it a perfect shop!

I love this local wine, beer, and light fare market so so much. I frequent it at least twice a week and the couple that run it are so incredibly helpful and friendly. You can always find an affordable bottle of wine or a very fine wine. We moved from California and they stock some of our favorite California Santa Barbara and Paso wines that we can't find elsewhere. We have breakfast casseroles custom made and can always count on a last minute prepared meal when nothing is in the refridge. I love this place so much and am so thankful it's right up the street.

I know what good beer is and craft beer. That's why I went there to look for a selection of beers not from the US. I asked if he had more beer somewhere and he said if I wanted beer I could go to 7-11. Excuse me! Way to treat your customers. Yeah I know if I wanted miller lite and I go to 7-11. I came to your store for obviously something different. Don't worry won't come to your shop anymore. Guess I didn't look like the type you wanted to help.

Though private stock markets itself as a wine and cigar shop, the food here is the real draw! A wonderful selection of prepared foods with a menu that changes daily. Would be the perfect one stop shop for picnics and parties as you could purchase wine and beer along with food to pair (the desserts are to die for)! The customer service is excellent and you're sure to leave with a great bottle of wine and a smile on your face.

I love this shop and agree that they have great selections, are very friendly, and offer good advice on what to get. But my favorite part of this shop now is the home made food. I buy for us here at home and for company or potlucks. All the food, dips and soups are good - in fact I'm headed up there later today. BTW, the scalloped potatoes are to die for!
