Just an update. I did my sons birthday here and the venue and the swimming part.. along with our science theme was a hit.Great staff! They had helped me set up and clean. This is every parents dream.. doing slime without having to do the cleaning after the kids insane mess. The room was spacious. The set up was easy with the convenient help when needed and the break down/clean up was fast. They provide many things.. they even do birthday themes if desired. They can do princess, science, frozen.. u name it.. they can accommodate one activity for your party. We had a spill in the room they we were able to get things cleaned easily. The party room is a great size for a birthday party. Our photobooth was a hit and spacious enough to have many areas of activities. The giant connnect four game was the kids favorite thing to do. Many things to do as far as activities. They provide enough tables and chairs for parties and an added addition of an activity for our chosen theme. Themes are nice but we just need to make sure we have all the decor provided since they don't provide those items. But we needed a lighter, decor putty, command strips, extra forks and spoons that they helped provide for us. My party host had to leave at a certain time to accommodate the nursery at the y as it got really busy.. but she was reliable most of the part.Good job Princess Anne Ymca. We love this place not just for their gym, childcare and facilities but for their successful parties. Thankfully the kids enjoyed every last bit of the activities from swimming, the eating, slime and menthos coke experiment..

This YMCA is pretty nice. They have indoor and outdoor pools, and a daycare inside. There's even a slide. Sentara uses their pool for physical therapy during set hours and during that timeframe no one else is in the pool but therapy patients. So I really enjoyed that. The locker rooms had showers, blow dryers, and lockers which is great. There's also a machine that spins your bathing suit to get the water out. Which comes in handy!! You can bring your own lock or borrow one from the front. They have water fountains that you can refill your water bottles at with ease. The building is clean and the staff are friendly. Check them out!!

After almost 500 hundred visits I guess I'm pretty qualified to review at least one aspect of the Princess Anne Y. I'm most familiar with the aquatics program associated with YMCA through USA club TIDE Swimming. Located off Princess Anne and Dam Neck Rd. The parking lot is enormous and the only issue with locating a space would be during events or meets. Typically the lot is debris free, however the front trash can has been known to overflow. A second one to have on each side not a bad idea. The Y was constructed four years ago and a brand new outdoor Olympic size Myrtha pool was introduced at the same time. The 50 meter 9 lane competition pool is primarily used by Tide, but is always open to members outside of a meet year around. It is currently the only one of its kind on the Southside of Hampton Roads. The configuration changes from long course to short course based off need. Bleacher seating is available for spectators. Restrooms are off deck. Members must check-in to front desk. The sunrises are magnificent! Cleanliness of the outdoor pool deck area is typically good. Maintenance could be improved as the pool approaches a 5 year mark this Fall. Tide and the Y work on this jointly. Guards watch the pool when it's open and are responsible for checking chlorine levels and keeping it clean. A new cooling feature to the pool was just installed. The chiller will ensure consistency with temperatures in hot Summer months. They also features an indoor water park and pool. YMCA lessons are conducted from this area and parents are welcome to watch. Adult programming is also available. Locker rooms with showers and family changing is off deck. Typically they are maintained nicely. On a side note since I'm familiar with this location. They have a large exercise area with free weights, treadmill machines and more. No indoor track like Norfolk. The equipment was just replaced a few months ago.If your already a YMCA member this is a fantastic gym with friendly and helpful staff. It's not the most convenient for everyone, but with so much growth in the area it's always busy.

I've been to this particular YMCA last summer and it was too busy with too many people. I think they had a swimming function going on. Fast forward 6 months...My son attended a birthday party here and it was great! He had the opportunity to swim indoors for a good amount of time. The party room I believe was actually the exercise room which was very spacious. Our host had a lot of food available for us all to eat. The theme was science, so in addition to a piñata for the kids to beat up, they were able to make slime and do science experiments (with a YMCA employee) such as coke and mentos. The kids had so much fun; I know my son did! From the perspective of a YMCA member: I can't wait to come here and see how the wellness center is! I saw that it was upstairs. Our home YMCA is Hickory/Great Bridge and even though this one is a bit further, I am going to make a point to come here very soon!!

This was our first but not our last visit to this Y! My kids loved the indoor pool. It is nice to have a indoor kid friendly pool to play in during the off season. This pool has a gradual slope to enter on the shallow side. There is a spot with bucket that fill up and dump on your head. We stayed in the shallow side but the pool is connected with twists and turns to different parts. There was a track that is for age 13 and up. This track is water propelled around in a circular motion in one section of the pool. The 2 water slides come out at the back side of the pool. There was a main swimming part on the other side with a walk way dividing it from the shallow end. The day I was there a rope divided it and a aqua class was in progress. I plan on going back and checking out the gym facilities and classes in the near future.

My family and I have been members here since May 2017 and couldn't have chose a better place! The stay and play ladies are amazing with our twins, my oldest daughter loves the interactive zone. It's a nice touch when your kids are being greeted by their names. It's family oriented and I love it! The programs they offer are great from parents night/day out, summer camps, youth sports, just overall great! The Gym area has everything my husband and I need for our workouts. Maybe not as much as OneLife but bench, squat racks and free weights are all that we need..and PA YMCA has it. We can't imagine a better place for our family needs!

This was our first time using the childcare at this Y and we will not be using it again. When we dropped our kids off it was quiet they scanned them in just like the other Y we go to. Then we came back to pick them up and it was different workers, I took my baby and she never asked who I was or signed him out, just handed him to me. I also had my toddler in there and he couldn't get out because there was a bunch of employee's congregated at the gate. And once again they didn't ask who I or my husband was he just squeezed his way between them to get out. It is scary that they could have handed my children to anyone. Definitely will not be back.

We had a birthday party here this past weekend 5.13.23 for my step daughter turning 8. HIGHLY recommend princess anne YMCA. Staff very friendly and helpful. Jasmine the coordinator for events AMAZING and GREAT communication and make sure all your needs are met and everything is perfect for your party! Kids had so much fun! Literally the best ideal birthday party, got great feedback from parents that attended with their kid/s. Only thing would change is the website description of what is and isn't included with the birthday party. But again Jasmine made it right and it all worked out! Thank you for having us!

I wanted a place to work out that was clean and had the most up to date equipment. I found even more, truly enjoy the staff and other members looking forward to each visit. Was able to find a time that fits my schedule without any crowd or wait for equipment
