My family and I tried this place for my brother's birthday due to the originally planned restaurant having a very long wait time. The food for the most part was great at least in my opinion which was the Braveheart Ribeye. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of all of it however collectively we ordered Caesar salad, a house salad, the Chilean Sea bass, the Tomahawk Steak, 30-Day Aged Ribeye, Braveheart Ribeye, Braveheart New York Strip, truffle fries, roasted redskin potatoes, and for his birthday dessert my brother ordered the mango crème brûlée. As for my family's opinion of the food only the Tomahawk steak, 30-Day Aged Ribeye, and roasted red-skinned potatoes were worth giving a thumbs up. Especially the 30-Day Aged Ribeye tasting better than the normal Ribeye. However, the Caesar salad dressing was overpowered by the cheese and did not taste like what we were hoping for. The truffle fries were less truffle and more rustic potato flavored and came with ketchup which is okay but for a high end establishment aesthetic it appeared unimpressive. And my mother who has many food allergies and intolerances was still unsatisfied with her Chilean Sea Bass as it caused stomach issues although we explained her situation and the chefs having remade her food twice. Nonetheless the service was excellent, the wait staff was very kind and compassionate always checking in on us and keeping our glasses full and doing their best to keep our satisfaction fuller. Thus for now I will leave my rating at a high 3 close to 4 out of 5.

We were somewhat hesitant to try this place out (chophouse side) for my brother's birthday because of the reviews but I'm glad we gave it a shot. We had a group of 8 and were seated immediately at 5pm. The restaurant is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and quiet even with multiple full tables around us. The only thing I would've changed about the ambiance is replacing the LED lights on the table with fresh flowers or small candles.Service was wonderful throughout the night with Alfonso. He was attentive for the most part but we could tell he got a little backed up when a bunch of tables were seated at once and we waited 20 minutes after asking for food boxes at the end of our meal. No problem. We took him up on his recommendations for wine, appetizers, and dessert which were delicious. He told us it was happy hour and the drinks were 25% off, then right before happy hour ended, he asked us once more if anyone would like another drink before the drinks go back to full price. We thought that was considerate. I forgot to take a photo but we had the steak bites that practically melted in your mouth (YUM), the carpaccio, and truffle fries. I will say, the truffle fries are like glorified McDonald's fries. We thought they were fresh and yummy but if you're looking for a sophisticated, hand cut "fancy" French fry for the truffle fries, this is not it. I do agree with another reviewer that the truffle fries should come with some kind of aioli and not ketchup. The she crab soup was an interesting color and flavor, different from the other more creamy she crab soups you'll find in VB. I know everyone has their own recipe, but this was not my favorite. It did have a lot of crab in it though. For our main meals, we ordered salads, lamb, tuna, a few different steaks, and the duck special. I ordered a salad as my main course and was not pressured by our server to order more which was nice. Every piece of meat was cooked exactly as we ordered it so we were happy. The sides were also delicious. I will say, the green and red sauces that come with the tuna were super spicy but only a small amount actually comes on the tuna so it is manageable but you can add more if you like more spice. For dessert, we really wanted to try the cannolis and the crème brulee. Alfonso let us know right away that it would be a while for the crème brulee because it was still chilling. The cannolis were large and came out quickly. We shared them between all 8 of us. About 45 minutes later (we chose to wait), the crème brulee came out, he poured some wild turkey 101 on top and torched it so the top had a small flame. It was devoured by my brother within minutes - delicious!!Overall great experience. It was pricey but great for a nice date night or special occasion. For a group of 8 with drinks, apps, dinner and desserts it was about $650. If you want to check them out for less, they have a lounge on the other side of the restaurant which we also frequent.

Prime 54 popped up on our radar, as it used to be a neat little hangout spot in southern Virginia Beach. We noticed that the venue had changed a bit to a very nice restaurant separated from the hangout sports bar. We've actually been several times, and shared the Tomahawk ribeye with another couple twice. There was more than enough food to feed the four of us, and even had quite a bit left over to bring home to heat up with our eggs in the morning. The atmosphere is super nice, the chef is very capable and outgoing as he came out and talked to us when the steak was being delivered.

Came here to check out this newly opened restaurant, and unfortunately I can't come back with the price and taste of the food. P.S: The server and host were attentive and nice, so the low rating is entirely for the food. My bf and I ordered a truffle fries to share, I ordered the Braveheart Ribeye with broccolini and risotto(forgot what flavor but it was cooked in a cream sauce), and my bf ordered the Ribeye Lasagna. The truffle fries: the fries tasted fresh but they looked like the b-dub fries. Comes with ketchup, which I was hoping for some sort of aioli for an upscale chophouse. The Braveheart Ribeye: The temperature was what I asked for(medium rare), but the char is straight up crispy brunt and bitter as if I'm eating charcoal pieces. I also ordered a demi glaze on the side, and that tasted and looked like some McCormick sauce. No demi-glaze flavor and the color is transparent like those powdered gravy packets. The broccolini was bitter. They were tucked under the steak so maybe the brunt from the steak went onto the broccolini... The risotto was creamy but they were undercooked cuz they were still hard.My bf said his Ribeye Lasagna just tasted like a normal lasagna like he couldn't tell the difference of normal beef and the "ribeye meat" that they used, but it was a big size and the sauce was pretty good so he thinks it's worth the money. The creme brulee... I have this tradition with my bf which we will order a creme brulee(if the restaurant provides) during our first visit. I'm no Michelin creme brulee reviewer, but I'd say I tried and made enough creme brulee to identify what a standard and good creme brulee is, and unfortunately this just ain't one. The flame on top is a cool gimmick but it melts the supposedly crispy top to a little too soft (we waited for about 5 mins after the flame was gone before eating it). The texture of the creme was NOT creme brulee but more like flan, when the creme should've been more of a custard/solid but creamy like texture. We were told their creme brulee has a little orangey-taste to it, but the orangey taste just totally covers the flavor of creme brulee. All we could taste was a bitter orange flan.Although my bf likes his lasagna, we both agreed that for this price we would've expected better tasting food. I have no doubt that the ingredients they used were high quality, but this is just not gonna go nowhere when you don't have the right chef to cook them.

Prime 54 is a fun concept with a very relaxed vibe. The service from the wait staff was exceptional. The steak bites appetizer was delicious and I enjoyed the sauce they poured over top. The main dishes were missing something as I could tell the meat was quality but it wasn't seasoned or cooked to my liking. The cheesecake was good and it didn't have a strong cream cheese taste. If you like Oreos you will like the cheesecake. All in all, I would come here again and try a different cut or a different dinner option like the wellington.

We were looking for a really nice restaurant for our anniversary. This spot had the food choices we liked so we tried it. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was somewhat to be desired. Not very romantic at all but we might try again for just a night out.

Noticed this new restaurant while driving around the area. This used to be the taphouse previously and it chances to prime chophouse. We decided to have a date night to check it out. I called to make reservations and upon entering we were warmly greeted and seated at our table. The inside is very modern, warm and cozy. The colors and decor is very pretty. We were greeted by our server who brought us waters and took our drink orders while we looked at the dinner menu. For our appetizer we got the tuna & crab tower. It was a nice big portion size to share and the seafood was fresh with notes of heat from the sriracha drizzled on the side. For our dinner we ordered the huge tomahawk steak which was about 36oz to share and we got truffle fries and the red roasted potatoes. The chef came table side and cut the steak for us on our table. Great presentation and my mouth was watering to dig in. The steak was cooked to perfection, a nice juicy tender medium rare. The truffle fries were crispy and you can taste the truffle and parm on the fries. The roasted potatoes were good as well. We were so stuffed that we didn't have room for dessert this time but we did see some good dessert options we would love to try next time. Our server was awesome, he checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything and also gave us recommendations along the way. So happy this close to home and is a great date night spot! We will be back to try other items on their menu. Be sure to check it out!!

We tried Prime because of the 2 hour wait at Blue Seafood. While the food was good, by the time we finished eating, we could have waited for a table at Blue and eaten there. The server was very nice but the acoustics make it very loud in the restaurant and it was hard to hear her. We had been sitting for almost 20 minutes before we had drinks and another 20 before we were able to order. The poor couple next to us had two different dishes delivered to another table. It wasn't a bad meal but I certainly didn't leave thinking I can't wait to go back.

Just what Virginia Beach needed, nothing quite like it in the area. Loved the truffle fries and crab cakes, very cool design inside, upscale and great service. Definitely highly recommend!

Nice ambiance although the main dining room was empty. We did have exceptional service and the food was delicious - perfectly seasoned ribeye and Chilean sea bass. Truffle fries were delicious. The dessert really stole the show, probably the best bread pudding I've had in the last decade.
