Planned all week to go here and my son was excited to go for his birthday. We show up on the only day they are open (Friday) and there is nobody there, gates are locked, and their phone number goes straight to a voicemail. Highly disappointed that we spent at least a week looking forward to this, planning around it, AND payed the toll to go both ways through the tunnel just for it to be closed. Is it too much to ask to update your hours or just tell everyone you are closed??

There are never open when they say they are! As of July 19, 2019. I cannot recommend anybody to visit this museum when they say they are open on their sign out front but the gates are always locked and NO one is there. Also NO one answers the phone, you can't leave a voicemail because the mailbox is always full it's not a business phone it's somebody's personal phone. It's pretty sad we're in the middle of summer when all the kids are out of school and want to visit the museum and yet it's not open during the hours stated on the sign in front of the museum or their website.I cannot recommend anybody visit this museum I've contacted them on Facebook with no replies whatsoever

A little known railroad museum in the heart of Portsmouth. No signs showing directions to the location and limited parking but definitely worth your visit. If you want a personal and informative tour of a old steam engine and associated train cars, then you have to ask for Brian. A true train enthusiast, Brian is wealth of knowledge. If you have a question, he has the answer. I spent over 1 1/2 hours there and could have stayed longer if not for another commitment.

Such a wonderful place to bring kids. We had a blast spending the morning with the owners Diane, Mike, and their dog Toby. They are super informative tour guides and cater to young kids beautifully. They have something for everyone and very affordable.

Super nice and informative people that run this joint. It's small and quaint but worth the stop. Pretty neat train set up of Suffolk...including a funeral disaster. Love me some dark humor.
