If you want the best pick of produce, you actually have to get to the farmers market as soon as they set up. That's 9am sometimes, 10 others. It's located in front of the cultural arts center and extends around to Court Street where Still (the speakeasy tapas spot) is. All the vendors are friendly and most have samples of their baked goods. I was even able to sample a persimmon. Tastes like a hybrid, but I digress.

Farmers Market in Olde Towne Portsmouth is fantastic!! It is on Sat from 9 AM until 1 PM on the corner of High street and Court street. They have lots of great local fresh veggies and also baked goods and lots more. I am headed there now for something to cook for dinner. There are great places to get lunch in the area after shopping too.I've added some photos.

I went to the Farmers Market last Saturday, arrived around 11. It was SO CUTE!!!!Vendors are set up along the intersection of High Street and Court Street. If you're looking for specifically veggies - there were only 3 or 4 vendors that had fresh produce. I got fresh squash and tomatoes (yum) There were lots of other vendors that were selling baked goods and other edibles. Mannino's Restaurant was out there selling their award winning She Crab Soup, Meatballs in marinara sauce (absolutely amazing) manicotti and FRESH mozzerella. The Bakers Guild was selling amazing toffee, biscotti and bagels, Faye-Made was selling CORNBREAD and other sweet baked goods, Silver Spoon Bakery was also represented. There were vendors selling doggie treats, there were lots of big doggies with their owners, on leashes (thank God) handmade jewelry, soaps and hand creams and other wearables. If you want produce, you'll need to get there when they open. To my dismay, a lot of the produce was SOLD OUT. I also saw two vendors selling fresh meat (pork and seafood). There were a lot of people out too, it was such a nice day!. I enjoyed myself, I'll be back next Saturday for more yum-yums. On and bring cash, not every vendor takes cards.

On a cool autumn morning, you'll want to enjoy this piece of hometown Americana. First, head for the coffee lady on the corner and grab a large cup of freshly perked coffee! A few stops away you can purchase a fresh breakfast bun and maybe a few more to take home. There are some wonderfully scented bath soaps and scrubs Treat yourself or buy some early Christmas gifts! I bought some scrumptious homemade jam and stocked up on some fresh veggies for the week. Also took home a few honey crisp apples. If possible, try to purchase the heavier fruits and veggies at the end of your visit so you don't have to carry around these heavier items while browsing. Enjoy a leisurely visit to this gem of a farmer's market!

Love the farmer's market! It is a great place to stock up on fresh produce, seafood, homemade crafts, and dog treats! All of the vendors are friendly and very helpful! I come here to get my dog her homemade dog treats and every time we walk by she gets a free treat. Many of the vendors accept credit cards. If you are visiting the area or have just moved to Olde Towne, I highly suggest coming to the farmer's market. It is open year round, every Saturday morning!

Was expecting a lot more vendors. But still had some great items. Get there early if you want good veggies and such. One thing I've noticed in portsmouth is the produce department in the grocery stores is sad. So when I can I will get my produce there. They also have homemade soaps, a delicious bakery is there I don't remember the name at the moment. But I recommend checking it out.

Went to get some fresh locally grown produce. As I was checking out I asked if it was organic produce. She said no, and none at the market is, and that they all buy their produce from the same truck. She said if someone says it is organic that they are lying. What is the point of going if I can run to the grocery store for the same? People want locally grown produce. Without chemicals.

The good thing is that the market continues to grow. Still occasionally sparse of some things, but it's getting there. The veggies aren't cheap really, but they are much fresher than you can find at any store.Artisan bakery is there as well as several other bakers and dessert makers - I love the dinner rolls table. Also often have some crafts and other product tables - local honey!
