Portofino Ristorante Italiano

We ordered 4 large run of the mill pizzas to go...sausage, cheese and pepperoni!! And y'all, Portofinos didn't disappoint. Delish!! When we arrived to pick up, the order was packaged and ready to go. The young lady even brought it to the car for us. And lastly, the pizza was excellent...piping hot and flavorful. Reminded me of New York pizza!

Met for our monthly friends group Sunday lunch. Everyone is pretty down to earth not hoity-toity folks. It is a reasonably nice small American Italian restaurant in a strip mall of the six entrées and two appetizers nothing stood out as fabulous, but nothing was badThe waitress gave us a sample of gelato which was quite rich, thick and creamy If you're in the area and looking for a quick and reasonable sit down restaurant, this is not a bad stop. Would not drive out of my way to go here again.

This a very casual pizza/Italian restaurant. They do offer table serve and considering what it is, it's a good size dining room (tables only, no booths). Again, very casual. Despite the moderate sized dining room, I suspect most of their business is take out.Service was rather laid back and casual. That's not say it was anything less than good, it was good. So, we did have a mishap with our order but they were quick to fix it, kind of. They didn't get the topping correct to our order. We sent it back and our server owned it and take it back. However, the kitchen did not remake the pizza. It was obvious that the kitchen removed the incorrect toppings added the correct tipping, sprinkled a little shredded mozzarella, reheated, and sent it back out to the table.The pizza, it was good. Average. We found it a little wet. I don't know how else to describe it. The perimeter crust was good, vert good. Everything else about it was just average.In a very small town, sometimes your don't need to be great, you just need to be open.

Great food! Great servers and people. Quiet place! Very kind servers. I will go again! Terrific place!

Definitely a no go!Wait staff was very nice but the food was horrible as were the flys .. I counted at least 5 as I was constantly trying to swat them away .Frozen food from any grocery store would be better .

Ok so this place wasn't terrible but it wasn't as good as I expected based on the reviews. I ordered the chicken piccata, which came with warm bread and salad. Someone wrote the prices were high, but for a nice Italian restaurant the prices were fine, the problem is that they cheapened themselves with some things. The salad would have been beautiful if they gave you the same thing but a different lettuce. Iceberg is just frosty (when kept in a very cold refrigerator) and boring. The house dressing was home made and fairly good but it seems like they were heavy in the vinegar and light on the oil, making a bit too tart. The bread was nice, despite not appearing to be house made, but the cheap packaged butter just lowers the tone. Then we get to the chicken piccata the chicken was cooked perfectly but the lemon sauce was like thickened lemon juice, again so tart it was hard to eat. I usually next complain about too much flavor, but you couldn't taste the saltiness of the capers through the lemon. I did have tiramisu which despite not being house made was very good. The house Chianti was very good and the waitress really over poured and admitted she did. I hope I'm not making this place out to be terrible because it wasn't, I just would have enjoyed it a little more with more balanced flavors.

My daughter and I went there last night for dinner, we seated ourselves. The waitress came by handed us the menus, my daughter ordered a beer, handed the waitress her ID, she looks at and gives a smirk, took my drink order, along with our appetizer order, dinner order. Appetizer shows up with NO plates, we ate off of napkins, the waitress sees this and NEVER offered us plates. The pizza arrives shortly after, not cut all the way through, soggy. I asked for a refill on my drink, she returns, places it on the edge of the table, we ask for a box, she gives us a box that is to small for the remainder of the pizza. Now, i am sick from eating there, will NEVER go back. Not worth 47.00

Food was good but we sat next to six tables with dirty plates and food on it. There were several flies that kept trying to land on our food while we were eating. I mentioned it to the waitress but she didn't seem to care. This used to be our go to place to grab food after a beach run but next time we will look else where.

What a find in the little town of Montpelier, VA! We enjoyed the minestrone soup, the two subs that we had and the onion rings. The portions are large, we could have just had the minestrone soup and be happy, but we put a good dent into everything. Hope was our waitress, she is efficient and always smiling. It is not an overly large place but I suspect it's big enough. It's a 25 minute drive for us so we will be there more, that's for sure.

Great local place! Nice staff, large portions and gelato! Menu has something for everyone.
