Build It Your Own Way Bowl

I decided to do a build your own so I could pick and choose a little bit of everything. I went with the Spring greens but I don't think there's a wrong move for the base. I picked 2 proteins (Spicy Tuna & Salmon) and started having them load up all the mix-ins. Plenty of options and toppings too, they even offered to let me taste the sauce options, which really does help with decision making. The ingredients are fresh, flavorful and I think this might be the best Spicy Tuna in the area; spicy enough to have a tingle but doesn't overpower the flavor of the fish. Most Poke places in the area aren't spicy enough, IMHO. Both the guys behind the counter were friendly and quick. There was also a steady stream of people walking in for carry out orders. On the fence? Try it, you need Poke Sushi Bowl in your life.

While visiting my boyfriend's family in Newport News, we stopped in for dinner. The poke bowl was very fresh and delicious! It was the highlight food wise of our trip!

Loved this place! This was a little piece of home far far away from the pacific islands of home. The food was amazing and fresh. The service was quick and attentive.

Got home after ordering online - no sides in the bag as menu indicated, rice was requested cold (ordered ahead for a 45 minute pick up to allow for cooling) and food was on the counter before 6:45- rice was warm and fish was warm when we got home. We loved this place when it first opened- now it isn't even 1/2 as great as it used to be.

Got to check out this place during their soft opening and were very pleased that there's a solid poke place on this side of the peninsula.Served in a chipotle/subway bar style, this new joint had a lot to offer. You can build your bowl your own way:1. Base2. Protein 3. Mix-in4. Sauces5. Top it off Or if you aren't feeling adventurous/creative, they have a solid selection of their own signature bowls .I personally do not like raw fish and was pleased that they have a chicken/tofu option. I got the signature bowl with brown rice and a couple added mix ins. My husband got the rainbow bowl with a base of brown rice and also added some more mix ins. After finishing, my husband and I both agreed that our bowls were both boasting with flavors while still tasting fresh and clean. We would definitely come back since the service was very quick. There is ample seating inside with a water station if you opt to stay and eat, but they do have a carry out option. The only reason that I would rate this a 4/5 is because the bowls are a bit small. Would be great if they offered a larger size. If my husband was super hungry, the serving size they currently offer would not have been sufficient. The price is also average, leaning slightly towards the more expensive side. Other than that, I'd definitely check out this new location if you're having a poke craving! **they also offer military discount!**

I ordered the volcano and I thought it lacked flavor. Definitely was bland for something named the volcano. It didn't cure my sushi tooth I won't come again.

Pretty good. I got the sushi bowl. Different than a typical sushi place. The rice was cooked perfectly and the tuna was great. I would come back.

The foundation of poke is the best-quality fresh raw fish topped with zesty and sweet sauces, good add ons, and a variety of different toppings. My boyfriend and I did a build your own and it had a good portion of fish and rice/veggies. The spicy mayo sauce was really good and the shoyu sauce really added to the complexity of the poke bowl. We're definitely coming back.

It is okay. The people preparing the food seemed clueless, one kept having to read the recipe card and the other took a while to figure out the butane torch. The food is pretty good and seemed fresh but I think the poke at Mr. Boil was better and the ambiance was hands down better.Probably won't be back.
