POD Market

This business is on the ODU campus and utilized by students. It is a tiny convenience store that also sales pizza and subs located beside the ODU Student Rec Center.. Most items are very expensive, more expensive than 7-11 stores. The pizza and subs are good quality and prices are not bad for what you get. The employees are usually very busy and customer service is not great. At busy times you must fill out a form of what you are ordering and turn it into the counter... a pain!

Not bad food compared to other things on campus. Staff is pretty unfriendly until you get to know them. Undoubtedly the worst part is the price of the items there. They are purposefully high because they know not all students have means to get to another store. Also they have a "Price match guarantee" which says that it will match the price of another if their competitors stores. This is a complete lie. I've have asked the employees and have told me that they don't. I have good friends that used to work there and they only price match other POD markets....how does that help? They will not match Wal-Mart, Food Lion, 7-Eleven, WaWa, Citgo, and the list goes on. Drop those prices and maybe the quality of the food will over shadow the near criminal prices of the other items.

It's great that Boar's Head deli meat is used in the sandwiches but I got a creepy feeling here. It was like they were overly interested in me and talked to me like a child. Both when I was ordering and paying the employees asked me if I was sure about my selection and that I didn't want to change it or add anything else. I want a sandwich, that's my final answer!

Honestly a real disappointment when going to this location. The aisles inside make you feel claustrophobic at times, but the make matters worse, the majority of the keel they're out of stock on a lot of merchandise. When ordering a sandwich or a pizza the staff are fairly unfriendly and act like your speaking in a foreign language. Overall a less than mediocre place, and it would take a lot of care and attention for this place to become somewhat decent.
