PK's Pit Stop

I am a fan of PK's Chili Dogs and in particular, the Carolina Dog. We just don't drive across the bridge all that often so I don't get a dog as often as I would like. This time we had business up the Caratoke Highway so we timed it just right for lunch.Ms T reprised her Chicken Tender Sandwich and again it was good. I decided that I needed two Carolina Dogs. We split an order of fries. I really like there homemade dog chili and the fine, creamy slaw. This was just as good as I remembered and worth the trip. The order of fries was generous. Ms T took part of her chicken home, and I took home a Carolina Dog. I have to return next time we are here.

On our way to the Outer Banks we stopped into this small unassuming grill completely randomly and were very impressed! We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and a cheese steak off of the specials menu. Both were cooked fresh to order and served nice and hot. The buns were impressively good quality. My chicken sandwich was served simply, with lettuce, tomato and mayo only but was moist and juicy. The fries were extremely crispy and very hot. Basically, we went in with no expectations at all and were amazed by everything instead.The owner (?) working at the counter was very nice and helpful. Prices were extremely reasonable as well. I would not hesitate to stop back in here if I was in the area again. They had a number of nice simple things on the menu that I would love to try.

PK's Pit Stop is a the place to go for some delicious grub. The food is awesome and there is something for everyone. The staff takes pride in the service and food and are so warm and welcoming. Family friendly. Quick stop, pick up or sit down and eat. Make sure you make a stop in and check them out. I recommend PK's Checkered Flag!

If it's a hot dog and fries you want, go here. The buns are fantastic and they keep chocolate peanut butter brownies in stock.

Great food!! Our family stopped on the way out of OBX. Great food and kid friendly. The owner let our girls chose a toy out of the toy box. Very nice.

My husband and I had The Chicago dogs. They were fairly authentic and tasty. It you're on the Outer Banks and have a jones for a Chicago dog, this is the place to go.

I stopped in on the way to OBX. It's a new little place and it's worth the stop! They have an option of a snap hotdog or a regular. I wimped out and went with the regular! It was so good! Mom had PK's burger, which was a special. She said it's the best burger she's had in a while. That hotdog was very good and the bun was very different from the store bought kind. I overheard another customer say the buns were the best she ever had! It's definitely a friendly price range and it brings back the classic tastes closer to home! I loved it and I will be making it a regular stop whenever I'm there!

Chicago dogs were even better than those we have had in Chicago! Friendly family owned business.
