The absolute tastiest bowl of pho in the area! The service was polite and hospitable and the restaurant is very clean. The portions are worth the price!

I got the #7 pho tai nam sach. Unfortunately there was such a long wait for it to come out after 30+ minutes. It was suppose to come with rare steak, brisket and tripe. However I was missing the tripe. The pho was just average nothing crazy good or bad. At least there was a fair amount of meat in the soup. Tables were a bit sticky, untensil looked very beat up and not super clean. Staff and service was really bad as they never checked up on me after they put the order in. There is a 5% cash discount which brought the total to about $15. Overall a poor experience here, hopefully it was just a one off, but I won't be coming back anytime soon. Simply Delicious! The food is so yummy! Strawberry boba is on point (first time having it frozen). The wontons are my absolute FAV!! They're perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender & tasty on the inside. Pho is cooked perfectly with flavorful broth Service is impeccable. Not a complaint* just a general observation, it was weird vibes with the 90s RnB music but made for an interesting dinner with throwback songs. Fried WontonsPho SoupStrawberry Boba

Had a little meet up and found this little place! Service was awesome and the food was chef's kisses!! I ordered the Bun Bo hue and we also got Bun Ga Nuong ... everything was so good. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I did get a Vietnamese coffee and I could have ordered another, it was so good. I would suggest this place if you are in the area!

Been coming here for a long while now. The one biggest issue they've always had is the customer service. It's like there no training or consistency of expectation for how to serve customers. If you ever find a good server, never forget that person's name. In this case, Austin. He's a great server and was a breath of fresh air. If you go here, just ask to see if he's working. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The food though is fairly consistent and what keeps us coming. Especially during the colder weather. They definitely have the recipe for pho down pat.Lately, we've been craving the bubble tea. I know it makes no sense that we like coming here during the colder weather only to get a cold dessert but woo wee... idk.. kinda wild right?Overall, I know we'll be back. Food Taste: 5Overall Service: 5 IF you get Austin - 3 if you get ANYONE elseValue of food to cost: 4Facility: 3Repeat customer: yesDog Friendly: no

Out of all the options we've tried, Pho 79 is our regular pho spot in the area. We come here A LOT. Service is great; everyone is so kind and attentive, and the food comes out quick. The boba smoothies are the perfect consistency and not too sweet but still delicious. I love the fried wontons as an appetizer. They're perfectly crispy, and the sauce they come with is really yummy. Everything on the menu is sure to please. My dad loves the short ribs. My husband & I always get the number 4 - pho tai nam. The broth is so flavorful, and adding a bit of sriracha gives it an amazing kick if you like extra spice. We'll continue to be back again and again as long as we live in the area.

A fellow Elite Yelper, Xavier C. puts it the best, "this place is probably my most visited "ok" place. It's like being that ex that you can't quit, I swear." LOL When I read that, I was rolling...haha but yeah, that pretty much sums up this Pho 79 location for me!Out of the ten Pho 79's in the Hampton Roads area, I would say with confidence that this location is my favorite. By no means is Pho 79 my favorite Pho spot, but its nice for a quick bite to satisfy a crave and it's relatively inexpensive. One of the best things I like about this location, is that they actually make their Vietnamese Iced Coffee fresh when you order! Some of the other restaurants, like the Ghent, Hampton and Newport News locations, their coffee are all pre-made crap. As a coffee snob, that is a big deal for me! Lol Another good thing about this location is their wait staff. All of my visits here, I've experienced consistently good service. Wait staff are attentive and courteous. Some customers might find their approach too casual? Like they'll refer to me, sometimes as "bro" or "whatsup bro, how you doing" but I personally don't mind. That just adds to the casual vibe. My usual order consists of Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Shrimp Summer Rolls for apps and a small #6 with extra tendon on the side. I feel like that's the perfect portion size for me, just the right amount of noodles and that extra soft, chewy tendon is the perfect complement! I LOVE TENDON. It's very nutritious and packed full of protein. #GAINS The food here is decent. For the occasional crave, I just come here directly after work and spend about $30 on some decent pho and coffee. Customer service here has been consistently good for me. For the value and location, this Pho 79 is my favorite!

Food and service were good. But the restaurant was hot and their credit card / wifi was down. So they were doing cash only. I really liked their spring rolls, they had the usual noodles, shrimp, lettuce in there but also some cilantro and a strip of cucumber. It made the rolls extra yummy. The peanut sauce was a little runnier than some places, but tasted good and worked well to just pour in the roll. The chicken pho was good, not amazing. Slightly lacking in broth flavor, but made up for once the toppings were added. There was a lot of chicken in my bowl! Big pieces! I also enjoyed the shallower, wider bowls. It seemed to make the pho easier to eat. The restaurant was clean inside, my menu was a little wet and seemed to have transference from another menu sticking to it.The staff was nice and personable! They checked up on everyone who came in regarding the cash only sign out front, so no one messed up after getting food.

Hair in one of our dishes. Gross! Do not buy from this place. Curly black hair in the soup (K1. Pho Tai, Bo Vien Beef Noodle Soup). So disappointing. This place used to be our "go to" for pho. Not anymore.
