The service was good. The place was clean and the food came pretty quickly. The fish taco was crunchy and tasted pretty good, but the carne asada didn't have much flavor at all. It was tender and juicy. It just needed more seasoning. Although I gave it a 3-star rating, I would go back.

Pelon's is part of our eating out rotation because it has something for everyone! As I can't have dairy, I truly appreciate all of the vegan sauce options. I recently got the fish tacos with a VEGAN Baja sauce. Usually in other restaurants I would have to just have no sauce. It's attention to detail like the needs of the community to have dairy free options that keeps me coming back. The portions are great, ingredients fresh, and the chips and salsa is comforting and addicting at the same time. I love the consistency and flavor of the salsa. They also have a wide range of hot sauces to choose from. The service is always pleasant, helpful, and informative. The decor is much like the Virginia Beach location but the space is much smaller. Pelon's will stay in our rotation because it is reliable and has actual, creative vegan/ non-dairy options!

I had much higher expectations after having been to the Virginia Beach location, but this was disappointing.Two of us both had the fish tacos. The tortillas were cold and dry. Not much flavor at all to the tacos so adding hot sauce was required as well as squeezing some lime. Meh.The ambiance gives a good vibe and and the person who took our order was friendly which was a plus.

I frequent both Pelon's frequently. I love the variety of their menu, the quality of everything I've tried, AND THEY HAVE VEGAN CHEESE! As a dairy free girl, finding good Mexican is hard because cheese and sour cream are commonly used ingredients...and can be the essence of a good dish. Being able to enjoy a good taco or burrito without having to miss the cheese makes my heart and tummy so happy. My favorite is the surf and turf burrito with DF cheese but I'm also a huge fan of the fish tacos and unemployed surfer burrito. The Ghent location is close to home and a great option for a week night dinner. The beach option is the perfect post beach meal with friends. Don't even get me started on free brownie Tuesdays (with vegan brownies as an option). Definitely a local gem worth checking out!

We stumbled upon Pelon's Baja Grill after a quick search for some Mexican food. The reviews looked good so we decided to try them out. When we arrived we got menus from the cashier/waitress inside and sat outside. Once we figured out what our order was we went inside and placed it. When the order was ready for us, the waitress brought it outside. Pretty low key, no complaints there. Our food came out pretty quick and was nice and hot! Our kiddos both ordered the nachos. Those nachos was large! Perfect for sharing. We now know for next time. My husband and I enjoyed our burritos, and he got a taco. No complaints really. We loved the menu options and all the different types of burritos.
