This is the cutest book store! It is tiny, but sure packs a lot from games, to books, activity books, puzzles, stationery ect. The employee that day we went was extremely helpful. She held great conversation with us as well. Pricing was reasonable and the selection was great. The puzzles offered were so cute. The children's books were plentiful. It looks like they have coffee and beverages, but I did not partake in those. Bathrooms were clean. You just have to ask for a key. You have to hit this store up if you are in Cape Charles.

Peach Street Books is a literal gem located in the Cape Charles Historic District. The exterior alone is quaint and colorful and reminds me of a little fairy house. When the sky is perfectly blue like when I visited, its charm is indisputable. When you arrive, you immediately feel the good vibes. This book store carries a mix of new and used books. The new books are marked clearly with little handwritten "new" stickers and the entire selection is mixed together. I was hugely surprised by how diverse their sections were. You can still find anything from fiction, to history, to feminist prose and cookbooks. The shop is arranged like a quintessential small town bookshop and they even have a barista inside slinging basic coffee drinks.I liked all the natural light that filters into Peach Street Books. It has a cozy ambiance that makes you want to stay a while, browse and enjoy. They had the most adorable Peach Street Books apparel with mermaids reading on it, and I looked so hard for one until I realized it was a kids design only. Ugh! Make that an adult design! Peach Street Books is a must visit if you're a bibliophile zipping around Cape Charles on your golf cart.

This little shop is a new addition since my last visit to Cape Charles in 2016. This is, of course, right on Peach Street beside Deadrise Pies and has a coffee shop attached to a cute little book store. The inside is a mix of old and modern with the newer building housing the coffee shop area with some take away snack items as well as fresh bagels, coffee drinks and tea. There is a modern seating area inside as well as an outdoor patio area with tons of metal, wood and natural light. Friendly staff greeted us upon entry and we browsed and looked. If you walk into the back you can walk into the old historic building that has been redone and has walls and shelves stuffed full with books for purchase and a few small areas with gift items. A cute addition to the town and perfect with here on the corner of Peach Street. A small lot with a few spots are available for parking if you need - but once you are in Cape Charles you can walk anywhere within just a few minutes so probably not necessary.

On my latest visit to the Eastern Shore I stopped by Peach Street Books in Cape Charles. I've been looking for an old out of print Eastern Shore Cookbook. The bookstore is a testament to Cape Charles itself. In the 90's this town was virtually a ghost town. With some new blood and investment it's now a thriving community once again. For example PSA is a rejuvenated old gas station and garage. You actually enter the store through what used to be the garage area. It's the largest part of the book store and also accommodates the main counter / coffee house portion of the business. In front of that is an outdoor dining area where you can sip your coffee, have a snack and read your purchase. The other half of this area is books, as is the second building and connecting corridor. Books are both new and used and there's plenty to choose from. While PSB has what every other bookstore has, they also have a section that is a wealth of information on Eastern Shore and it's history. Unfortunately I didn't find the book I was looking for, and that includes with help from the very nice lady working the counter going through her computer. She did however make some suggestions for other bookstores on the Eastern Shore to check out.All in all a great place to check out if you're in Cape Charles or on the Eastern Shore. They're located on the corner of Peach Street and Mason Ave in the heart of downtown Cape Charles.

Great stop for coffee in a lovely independent bookstore! During a family visit to Cape Charles in late December, I was looking for a place to pickup coffee and hot chocolate for the drive to Onancock. The store appears to be in a former car repair garage, but has been renovated to accommodate a mini-cafe and nice book selection. There are also a few outdoor tables on the patio. Be sure to bring and wear your mask before entering the bookstore! I ordered a cappucino and hot chocolate to go, and picked up a $1 paperback book while waiting for the order to be ready. In the front, I was impressed by the specialized collection of historical books on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. If you're driving through Cape Charles for a day trip visit, I would strongly recommend coming by this bookshop for a cup of coffee. Please note that they close at 3:00pm on most weekdays.

This adorable bookstore was at the top of my list for places to visit while in Cape Charles. It did not disappoint! The staff were extremely friendly, their merchandise is wonderful, and I love that they offer coffee and refreshments too. The beautiful restoration of this historic building made my heart sing. Hats off to the owners for bringing some things so wonderful to this town.

Oh I had such a great time here. It's so tiny and perfect and I love that it's family owned pretty much. There's a section near the front door where there's like two or three carts of books that are only $1, so that's a good place to start. Most of the fiction novels are in the little cottage part, which I thought was the entrance at first but totally wasn't. I'm glad it wasn't, because being in that little cottage just getting lost in the fiction area was great.

One of the coolest places in Cape Charles! Huge selection of both new and used books made it a really affordable stop. We especially loved their "Beach Reads" section for a quick vacation book and the rack of $1 books by the door. The range is fantastic, from YA to a shelf of Stephen King to local history. Be sure to stop in for a book or a souvenir, or even just your morning coffee.
