With the threat of rain, a large group of us celebrating a friend's birthday left the public beach and headed for Paradise Ocean Club to grab a bite. Since there was a strong chance of rain, everyone from the beach at the club had moved under the patio, causing a not-great situation for the staff, so our group's arrival momentarily panicked them. They improvised quickly and seated all 20 of us indoors. We had a couple of servers who were super on top of things and handled the unexpected group with such kindness. I ordered a ginger ale and the fish and chips platter, which is made with flounder. I ordered cole slaw and french fries as my sides. It was a huge portion and I needed a to-go box. Everything was quite tasty and warmed up well the next day also. Prices were reasonable as well.I would definitely consider a full-day excursion to Paradise in the future, maybe next summer. There was no cover for dinner, but otherwise beach access is $15.

Just since yesterday I have recommended this place to 4 people and 3 different social groups I am a part of. Who wouldn't love this place you pay $15 for entry for adults and $19 forKids but you can literally stay here all day. My one gripe is you should be able to bring in simple snacks such as chips and cookies since they don't have any for sale however you are unable to do so and the guy checking bags is extremely top flight and thorough. My daughter who's 6 just wanted some chips and they didn't have any other than tortilla chips. Also, the best food is at the tiki bar so you end up ordering from the bar versus the beach which isn't smart for business meaning the food and drink runners at the beach. They took so long with our first round of drinks that we ended up just going to the tiki bar for everything which I know hurt their gratuity for the night. I want to add the food here is great but there's are two separate menus the beach one which is limited and more then the menu at the tiki bar. For example at the beach you can only get chicken tenders ala carte and have to pay additional for fries but on the menu in the tiki bar the chicken tenders come with fries so we went to the tiki bar to order. Also, you can't get foods of substance like their fish and chips which was seasoned so well and included two huge pieces of hand breaded flounder from the beach service you have to order at the tiki bar. The same goes for the salmon wrap. The menu is so limited on the beach yet is coming from literally the same place as I saw the runners. Now I could see ordering drinks from the beach if they had the ability to make the drinks but they don't they still solely relay on the tiki bar. As for the food it's all served in to go trays which I don't mind to hold off the seagulls but why have separate menus if I see that both menus you order from are coming from the same kitchen. This set up causes a disservice to the wait staff on the beach as you end up going to the tiki bar as preference.

Spent my memorial day weekend here at Paradise Ocean club. It is a family friendly environment now, so if you're looking to come here and relax with no kids- think again. If you do not get here within the first hour of them opening, you risk the chance of having to wait in a very long line and not being able to enter at all potentially. There is a limit to capacity now.Pros-It's a beach with a beautiful clean pool and drinksCons-They no longer have a DJ for the summer season of 2024 & the music they were playing-Trash. The food was absolute trash, I got the salsa and a buffalo chicken wrap. They do not serve water on the beach, if you want water, you have to get it from the bar yourself. They do not take tap pay.No outside food or drinks No personal speakers Boats can no longer pull up No coolers$15 entryDrinks water down fast (it's hot of course). I would suggest if you're getting a liquor drink- do no ice and then ask for a separate cup of ice.It was kind of hard to rate this because I would simply go back because I love the water and the vibe of people was different. I just didn't enjoy anything else about it.

Long story short...they need better service. When we sat down at the beachside lounge chair the guy immediately came over and cleaned up the trash from the previous guest. He said he'd be right back, but it took over 10 min. We were sitting right beside the service desk on the beach so we just watched him relax that entire time. We ended up going to the bar to order food since what we wanted couldn't be served on the beach snack menu. The bar tender service was awful. He took three other people after acknowledging we were waiting. No, those people were not there before us. The bar wasn't busy so we were confused why he told us to hold on when we told him he skipped us for the 3rd time. Overall it seemed like a great place to relax, have beachside food/drink service however, the service just wasn't there. Then to charge 20% for bad service made it worse. Food and drinks were good. I had a crab cake sandwich and Paradise Punch.

We stopped by a couple weeks ago without realizing they had JUST reopened. Our plan was to have a bite to eat by the water so i looked for a restaurant near the water. Easy enough. This place has a long sordid history of being a rough-around-the-edges turned actually dangerous (shootings) dance club. They were closed for over a year after scandalous ish. They finally renogiated their lease with the VA parks dept to continue to operate on the property. Now if you're me, and you see "beach club" you think drinks brought to you by the beach/pool like places in miami and la and long island etc. OK? And it seems like maybe they're trying to get back to that, or create that. But there were weird vibes man. Employees seemed salty and angry honestly. Food looked basic and sad and for the price? We said no thanks. They made me pour out my water upon entry. Water. $15 a person just to enter unless you're sitting in the covered restaurant area. There is no inside restaurant fyi. There's cabanas that would be fun to rent but not if you have to deal with the salty employees. We spoke at length to 2 bouncers of which there were like 6? And they said the food is flavorless. Anywho. If you have kids Just pack your cooler and go to monroe or buckroe beach or hampton aquatic center. I hope someone else takes over and makes this place fun and safe. It's got so much potential.

So what was once fun and cool, was turned into a night club S___ Show and shut down. Now re-opened for 2024 it is a money sponge that sucks your wallet dry. PROS: Great atmosphere, Matt the beach dude is an awesome server at beach tiki. All the riff-raff is pretty much gone. No individual speakers, no ladies in dumbass swim suits (I have kids). No boats allowed. CONS: Everything is over priced - cover charge $15 - Weekday- bucket of crap Mich Ultra (6 - 16oz) $36, 5" inch chicken wrap with dumpster fries $14. Automatic gratuity. Lack of staffing. Beach trash everywhere (cig butts, straws, bottle caps, plastic bags, few cups, broken wrist bands). We used to enjoy going to the POC. It turned into a POS, and now is just an over priced POS.

Subject: Concern Regarding My Visit to Your Establishment on August 17thDear Owner,I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share my experience during my visit to your establishment on Saturday, August 17th 2024z Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected, and I believe it is important to bring these concerns to your attention.During my visit: * My party and I waited at our table for an unreasonably long time to be served, despite the restaurant not being busy. Another worker present ignored my questions, and we were eventually served by the only waitress on duty. * After our meal, the waitress repeatedly asked if we wanted our change, even though signage throughout the establishment clearly indicated that a 20% gratuity was already included. * When I requested assistance from Tom, the manager, to find two beach chairs together (senior citizen with back problems) , he responded dismissively without even making eye contact, stating that if he helped, he'd be "moving chairs for folks all day." * I later located a chair on my own, with the consent of a nearby customer. However, I was approached by a young man wearing a security shirt who rudely informed me that moving chairs was not permitted, even though there was no signage to indicate this rule. His tone and manner were unprofessional and discourteous. * I witnessed an incident where a party of about 20 family members, who were celebrating a birthday, was harassed by security. Two individuals from the party took the same path near the cabanas, but only the Black individual was scolded, challenged, and cursed at, while the White individual was simply offered assistance. This biased treatment was unsettling and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. * The large party eventually packed up and left early, clearly feeling disrespected, and this added to the anxiety I already felt from the day's events.I have several questions that arose from my visit: * Why are paying customers expected to refrain from using available chairs for potential future customers? * What kind of security staff is allowed to treat customers with such bias and hostility? * Why was the manager so dismissive and unresponsive when asked for help? * Why was a lifeguard on duty more focused on her toddler and husband than on ensuring the safety of those in the water?I had brought a friend who was visiting for the first time, and the experience left both of us disheartened. I am left wondering why I would return or recommend anyone else visit.I hope that by sharing this experience, you will take the necessary steps to address these issues and ensure that future guests receive the level of service and respect they deserve. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter and how you intend to resolve these concerns.Sincerely,Beach lover
