It can transform an ordinary drink into something special. It makes the magic of coffee last throughout the entire day. I was immediately welcomed when I walked into the Outer Bean. Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean.Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. Food was NOT worth the price. I eat at a lot of local places and this is definitely one I would NOT come back to, I ended up throwing away half of my food, the panini tasted like Sams's club pizza (cheap and not good). To put the Cherry on top the window front seating is probably the most uncomfortable seating. Table feels tacky and dirty.Looking for a good OBX breakfast? It's not here...

I love that they have gluten free bread for breakfast sandwiches. And because most gluten free bread is the size of my palm, they made me two mini breakfast sandwiches without me asking. Thank you! Also love the online ordering system so we can grab and go.

My husband and I stopped in on our way into town for our OBX visit. Got there for a late lunch and there was only one other table dinning. I got the Vegan Panini with hummus and vegetables. I loved that there was a ton of veggies but thought the bread could have been larger; both my and my husband sandwich (BLT) were on basic store bought buns that were pressed. Though it was good, we were both not filled up by the size of the sandwich which felt small for the price.

Service with a smile to start with and a great tasting Hazelnut coffee finish with a lemon bar locally made, a little heaven in Kitty Hawk , NC. I highly recommend to come by and visit.

Stopped in here for breakfast and it is such a cute little spot. The service was great. Everyone is very friendly and their menu is huge! Everything from breakfast, lunch, smoothies and juices. I got a bagel and a beet juice. The juice was fresh and super delicious! Highly recommend!

We stopped here while on a family vacation. The location is right off the main road and easy to find. The staff was friendly and quick. We ordered caramel lattes decaf and they were tasty. If you are in need of a coffee, check this place out.

The cashier was very confused when I ask what flavor of bagels they had for a breakfast sandwich, after a few minutes of back and forth she finally said "we only have plain bagels". They don't have sausage for their breakfast sandwiches. The bacon was microwaved, they put sliced hard boiled eggs and cheese on my sandwich, the menu isn't clear about their style of sandwich. In the end it wasn't bad, but I won't be returning. I sat at the front window bar to eat, the bar area was was not wiped down from previous diners, crumbs, cup stains not very appetizing environment to eat.

I got the tomato basil sandwich on a bagel and it was so delicious. Staff were so nice and considerate. They made sure I got a delicious meal! I originally was going to do a make your own sandwich and was basically ordering the tomato basil so the staff suggested that and it was so good! It was fresh and the mozzarella was delicious. Would get that again! It was a cute little place!

Amazing!!! Best service I've experienced in a coffee shop or restaurant for that matter. From my time as a barista, I can be picky when it comes to espresso. However, the Peruvian coffee here is some of the best espresso I've had! The prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are excellent. If you are in the area, give this cozy coffee joint a try!
