Otto BBQ N Grill

A very solid little new establishment in Ahoskie. It's right next to the bigger, more established Abrams, but I always go with "less gaudy = better food." Not to knock the competition, but Otto belongs here. It's not much to behold inside at first but there are nicer rooms to either side for more seating. The counter is no frills but you'll be struck by the wide selection. I went with smoked sausage, Brunswick stew and baked beans for sides (sadly out of fried okra), and standard Southern tea.Food came out quickly. Verdict: Solid. The sausage was excellent, crispy skin, wonderful flavor. The beans needed sauce to get going, and unfortunately the sauces are all up front at the counter. Message to Otto: see if you can get containers for each table, or at least a few containers instead of one of each. Second message: please add to the menu what each sauce is! I had to try a few. St. Louis adds a nice touch of heat. No bad sauce in the bunch, just takes some experimentation. Brunswick stew also needed a dash of sauce to come out of its shell. Finally, the pie - I swapped for a slice without the whipped topping - and that is amazing pie. Sweet, smooth, Southern.

Do not buy food here a got 2 overpriced salads cost 22 bucks on had dressing already on it it was WET and other did not get salad dressing with it at all this place was good when first opened NOW IT Not and if you buy fried food it the afternoon it is oily.
