A great 'neighborhood' store with a wide and very good selection of healthy stuff! Chill & unpretentious, just the way I like it!

I used this place for a while, joined the membership so I could purchase online and split cases, and thought it was okay; then a few months ago noticed a lot of the fresh produce had that "not-so-fresh" look about them,even some of the items I purchased via the website. Brown slime on the leafy greens and a few cliché-esque bad apples fed my skepticism, but I still persisted.Then I showed up one day without my OFD card and the manager (owner?) refused to give me the member cost even though I was in the system. "You have to have your card," he said, never making eye contact. Wow. For the 'green' lifestyle this place promotes, you'd think they'd be okay. My loyalty was now torn, because why patronize bad attitudes? Fueled by my previous encounters with poor produce, I've pretty much stopped visiting this place at all.I'd like to return; it's right on the way home from work and it saves the wife from needless trips to the store. But too many sour visits and surly 'tudes have made this place not worth the cost.

Love the concept of this place. The staff is hit or miss, either very helpful or not which does not bother me much. Nice selection of vegan options in store and the ability to place orders on-line and pick them up in store. The online option is nice but too much of a hassle for me so far to sign up. They should be able to set you up for online orders in the store. Decent amount of vegan products here. I purchase the vegan cheddar Teese, and whipped up some mac'n'teese that night (which I really liked). The product that I purchased from the store was reasonable in price. I like!!

I've been frequenting this little gem tucked back in a corner off of Granby Street for about 10 years. They are awesome. For the past month I was on a quest to find heavy cream without carrageenan in it. Well, one of the perks of Organic Food Depot is being able to order these things direct from manufacturers and local farms and/or split cases of said items with others who are placing an order. Need vitamins? Gluten free? Vegan? Grassfed organic meat of any kind? I even found candy and chewing gum with xylitol instead of sucralose. For such a little place, they are the best!!!!

This is my favorite health food store. I love to be able to buy in bulk and pick up at the store. This is the only place that sells powdered coconut milk to blend into my coffee or make Golden Tea. I always check out the clearance rack and freezer for new products to buy. Today I found Paleo bread and gave it a try. And the pizza selection is always stocked with something good. I priceless gem in a good neighborhood.

Great indie grocery store & organic produce right in Ghent. They have bulk grains/nuts as well as a huge cooler with local organic produce. Lots of things for the vegetarian/conscious eater as well as a whole aisle of health/beauty products. Friendly staff. There are locations in Va. Beach, Hampton, Norfolk and Portsmouth.They have an online ordering system, will deliver your groceries if your order is more than $100, and you can order cases of more expensive things and split them with other "members". Great place!

Not a bad place, but not super great either. Here is the deal, my family and I have a gluten allergy. We are able to get our favorite pizza here and that is about it. I like their local greens but most of their other produce is not worth it to buy. I don't come here for customer service, that is for sure. The manager is so aloof and seems like we are a huge inconvenience. Truth be told, Whole Foods carries our favorite pizza and I will stock up when I am in VAB, however OFD is just down the street from us I will go here in a pinch.

this COULD be a 5 star place. I was all excited to join until I saw the NOT USER FRIENDLY Website for placing orders. Thank you for your efforts here, this is a lot of work, BUT, what a great opportunity to be a wonderful food source, a gathering place, a community place, an "oasis in a food desert", ---- so if you made this website better, I would be more inclined to be a part of this effort.

The people working there are rude! They don't help answer any questions and are very nonchalant. Do not come here, only if you like being ignored and brushed off :)

Overpriced. Not a coop - see Ozark Natural Foods in Fayettevill AR for a REAL coop.Horrible customer service. Some items on shelves or out of date.
