Came here to celebrate Valentines Day this year. Made reservations in advance, and a good thing we did as they were turning away walk-ins. Ambiance is nicely upscale without being overly pretentious. Servers are in Tux shirts & ties; hostess dressed nicely. Seated quickly, and our server, Haley, was a delight. She was personable and friendly, with a great sense of humor. She kept us filled up as needed and obviously watched our progress without being obtrusive, as she served the next courses very shortly after finishing the previous component. First we inhaled their fresh rolls and whipped honey-butter (could easily make a meal of just that!). Today I enjoyed two of the days specials, Beef Stroganoff soup and grilled garlic Mahi Mahi. This was accompanied by a mixed vegetable seasoned with a light vinaigrette and potato croquettes. My wife decided on a simple salad and crab cake, again accompanied by a mixed vegetable seasoned with a light vinaigrette and mashed potatoes. Crab cakes were delicious, with little or no filling. Mahi was fresh and lightly seasoned. We finished by (almost) licking the plates! Must say, for the level of service, the upscale atmosphere and the quality of the food, the price was reasonable. Will return!

We had reserved seats for both of us this 2025 Valentine's Day about three months ago and were so happy that we did as we saw other couples get turned away without any reservations. We had fantastic food starting with a refreshing salad for me, which was the Opus 9 side salad accompanying the entree. Hubby had the soup and I took a small taste. It was okay, but I liked mine more. My crab cake tasted like what I get from home, but it has been a long time since I've any this great tasting! Hubby had Mahi Mahi, which is a fish that I don't much like so he didn't offer any to me. We were in a quiet room off of the main traffic area tastefully decorated with blues and a a splash of browns. Our server, Haley was so effervescent and had a positive bubble surrounding her. We looked at the dessert menu but were too full to consider eating anymore. Perfect meals for both of us, perfect pick Hubby !

Very nice atmosphere! Appreciated the staffs attentiveness (greeted us by last name, checked that the steak was cooked to our liking, & even performed a baked potato topping service!). I will say, in my opinion, the food is good but it's not necessarily the best thing i've ever had. I feel like every plate was good, but mediocre. There wasn't anything we really raved about. I feel like all dishes would've tasted a bit better with more spices. The steak frites portion sizing also didn't seem like enough. 3.5 stars, definitely a fun experience but the food isn't thrilling.

My husband brought me here for our 7th anniversary and I was thoroughly impressed. The bone-in filet mignon was absolutely AMAZING! I wish I had a picture but it looked sooo good I was halfway through when I thought about it. The server Alexandria had the best recommendations from wine to entrees to dessert. Everything was delicious! We'll be back again. I highly recommend it!!!

Reservations are a MUST!We have taken care to frequent Colonial Williamsburg for decades; Probably the Christmas season is our favorite, and the long hot humid summer is the season we avoid.Any frequent visitor to Greater Williamsburg is in for a culinary treat; we focused our first few years on Colonial Williamsburg dining, and we still recommend the historical taverns.Caveat: Explore Greater Williamsburg dining because there are wonderful options. I am reluctant to specify our favorite restaurant; however, OPUS 9 Steakhouse is always a must dine visit during our colonial holiday. I do not wear my Continental Army General's uniform to this restaurant (I may wear the uniform to colonial taverns).OPUS 9 Steakhouse is one of Williamsburg's best; OPUS 9 Steakhouse is a handsome property, with handsome ambience. Servers are well trained, and we have enjoyed excellent experiences. We recommend calamari as appetizer. She: Lump Crab Cake or the filet depending on her mood. He: Boneless Ribeye. 'Tis fine that we reside in Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony during our colonial visits because we will have boxes to go. OPUS 9 Steakhouse offers a seafood menu section; however, there are several classy seafood restaurants in Williamsburg. The tariff is appropriate for the fare.

Food was good. However service was slow. In an hour and a half we had only gotten appetizers and salad. We were in a private room, it would have been nice to have the more comfortable upholstered chairs.
