Old Colony Smokehouse

Drove from Raleigh to Edenton just to try this BbQ. About 2 hrs. East. Place was clean enough for BBQ. TRIED the sample platter for 2. $55. We were at Pinehurst BBQ festival last week but wasn't able to taste their products due to crowds. We asked to speak to the owner but he was too busy to talk to us. Food was OK brisket was cut thin and was cold. The cucumber salad was great. Mac n Cheese was tasty. Beans had a slight after taste to them due to a spice they use. Sausage had jalapeños not my thing. Turkey was moist and tasty. Pulled chicken and pork were fine. All was good but cold. Would try it again if in the area .

Passing through this area on a road trip, and this came up on our search for local barbecue. So we show up on a Friday at 2, and we are told they only have brisket left. Hey, it's not like we weren't warned. Luckily, this brisket was simply some of the best I've had. Absolutely tender with an excellent smoke ring, this brisket had everything. And my wife and I both raced about the potato salad. She practically stole it off my plate. Plus a very friendly and accommodating staff. I feel very fortunate that I found this place in my trip. I hope it's not the last time I visit here.

Best BBQ I've had on here on the east coast! The mac and cheese was amazing. Also enjoyed the sauces provided!

Just wow! I had heard nothing but good things about this place and it did not disappoint. There was a line forming just before they opened, but it moved quickly because they have a great serving system. I got burnt ends, potato salad and pitt beans and they were all delicious, the brisket melts in your mouth. Great cheerful atmosphere full of happy customers!

Welcome to Barbecue Nirvana!The lot filled up fast and the wasn't an empty seat in the house. When you walk into this old boat house building and make your way to the counter you find an elaborate menu of remarkable meats and side dishes. I suggest just getting to the counter and ordering meat by the pound. I got a quarter pound of chopped pork and brisket plus the cheddar jalapeño and brisket sausage. Then make your way towards the register whey you can add sides picked vegetables and complimentary white bread. Get there early because this place is popular. I loved it

We visited Edenton, just to check out the town which is amazing. But we stayed most the day and needed lunch. My wife and I both love brisket so we decided to stop at Old Colony Smokehouse. Great choice, we both got Brisket and shared some Mac and Cheese which was also delicious. It is kind of pricey but once in awhile you gotta go for it. :) Make this your once in awhile, you won't regret it.

We drove an hour to get there. Line was out the door. They close at 3pm on Saturday. So people said that's why they have a line. We got 2 sandwiches 4 sides, 2 drinks. Our bill was around $40. Sides were small Styrofoam cups. Hate to see people still using Styrofoam. Our broccoli salad was 50% raisins. Cole slaw tasted like plain cabbage with sugar milk on it. Sandwiches were small. We won't be back, it's not worth it.

We brought friends from out of town to this place for lunch. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. Prices were reasonable. We are already planning another trip there soon. I had a baked potato with pulled pork and it was fantastic

Great ribs & brisket! The service was equally as great! A bonus was the sides that were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the collards!
