Old Beach Tavern

Good food but awful service. The server (Anthony) appeared to be completely inconvenienced by having a table to wait on. He was also working behind the bar, but there were only about three people at the bar. He was rude and inattentive. I'd recommend the food but if Anthony is the only server, leave and come back another time.

Came here 01/13/2023 to see River Boyz and they sure did not disappoint. If you have never seen this band. I highly recommend if you love old school rock!We got here around 630p. Since the parking lot is small they offered Valet parking that night, which I recommend as parking is very limited when they have this available. Please be aware of your surroundings if you are not utilizing valet as you could get towed. Marcos Pizza and Duck Donuts is next door and you cannot park there. We were a party of 6 and most of the tables to the left were reserved, which we did not know we could do...we made a note to do that next time.We were seated at a booth near the stage. The booths sit 4 comfortably but definitely not 6 but we made it work for a bit basically to eat. It took a while for waitress to come, we had to ask the FOH to get someone for us. Food: OBT nachos, Buffalo Chicken wrapDrink: Aperol SpritzThe nachos were good but small, best to share with 2-3 people but not more. My Buffalo chicken wrap was ok, I did not get the ranch that was suppose to come and tried to get some but our waitress was super busy, not gonna fault her since everyone is short on help.I also got the Aperol Spritz drink and received this in a 16oz clear plastic cup and was really good, so ordered another and this time it came in a much smaller cup and that bummed me out that this was not consistent, so I did not order another because of that.This place is great for live music. Will have to try something else next time.

I want to start off by saying the atmosphere was amazing, the staff was welcoming from valet to the kitchen manger Keonte . Waiter Anthony was very knowledgeable and very polite, chef Linda food was outstanding/ seasoned to perfection. I will definitely make this a regular weekly hangout spot.

Old Beach Tavern was a mixed bad. Had a fun atmosphere and the wait staff was great. But the food, a little less than average.The crab dip had the consistency of soup. We then tried the steak bites. They were tender but not much flavor. I'm pretty sure we'll go back, but it will be because we had a good time. I also think we'll skip the appetizers and try a dinner next time. Hopefully my next food review will be more positive.

PSA if you order online the order is sent by email that is not checked. However, if you door dash they receive it and process the order. Their website needs to be changed to either not give you an option to order (pick up/delivery) make the online orders go into the same system as door dash. Very frustrating.

Always great food and service! Awesome music with local bands/groups. Love this place so much.

A new transplant to Virginia Beach from Connecticut, not really much a "bar person", but very much enjoyed the food, drinks, specials, and friendly, relaxed atmosphere as did all others I was with (a MeetUp group of @ 30), in addition to others. Bartender, DALTON, was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about drinks, and although a large group, the Wait Staff was very attentive and friendly! Guess I might become a "bar person" after all! Rob P.

My husband and I stopped in this weekend to sit at the bar and listen to some live music. It was VERY crowded inside. It's got plenty of booth and bar seating with a U-shaped bar in the center with seating all around and booths and tables all throughout the place. They have a large stage for live music which they have several times a week and in the back left they have a small area with some gambling-type games you can sit and play if you'd like. Music was very good and the crowd was all having a great time, dancing up front and enjoying themselves. A large birthday party was also taking place so the joint was hoppin'!We didn't order food bc we had already had dinner earlier but looked over the menu and saw tons of things we'd have ordered: burgers, cheese curds, a few great salads, some sandwiches and other items like fish and chips. For sure going to come back for dinner. A little bit of merch is for sale in the back by the restrooms in a small display. Parking up front was valet but you could self-park in the back if you could find it. The bartenders and staff were all excellent and super friendly.

After seeing mostly positive reviews, I decided to roll the dice on this place and wasn't disappointed. They must read the Yelp reviews because the crab dip wasn't soupy at all. My burger was delicious and the salad my gf ordered was huge with plenty of croutons. Our cups were never empty and our waitress was attentive and friendly. I plan on frequenting Old Beach Tavern in the near future. Five out of five stars, no notes.

This was our first visit to OBT. We were so impressed,, the service was amazing and the food was delicious. Our bartender was right on time with the beverages. We had crab dip and steak bites....delicious!!!
