Ocean Blue Seafood Restaurant

I had the shrimp po'bou sandwich and it was big and delicious. I will definitely go back if I'm in Norfolk again.

I've only had takeout from Ocean Blue, and even then I wasn't the one who picked up the food, so I can only comment on what I've eaten. I tried them out during the shutdown and have revisited multiple times since. I hit them up often during Lent. Ocean Blue is almost exclusively a takeout establishment, so this isn't a place to show off to out-of-towners whom you want to impress. If they don't mind the optics and just want inexpensive food quickly, then check them out. Ocean Blue offers some wildly low prices for their seafood. What's crazier is I believe their food is good - extremely good when you account for their price points. OB is also fairly fast and the lady working the counter is friendly (per my mom's experiences). Based on these aspects, I'd recommend Ocean Blue to anyone within a 2-5 minute drive from them.Thank you, Ocean Blue. JV

When entering the restaurant the decor is plain and simple. Seems like a local favorite in the area due to the decent combo prices and portions. I tried the 2 piece fish with jumbo shrimp and 2 sides (streamed broccoli & corn) and comes with hush puppies. Also order side of oysters, onion rings and complementary Cole slaw. And when they brought out the order its was no wonder its a local fave. Big portions on everything! Everything was tasty except the onion rings. Didn't taste much like anything. I couldn't finish everything! If you want a good deal and big portions this is the spot. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

This place came highly recommended and I understand why. Extremely inexpensive and the food is good. The service was good as well. Nice place.

This place has fallen in quality. I received tiny crabs and huge rotten russet potatoes chopped up. This is unbelievable. I used to love this place.

This place use to be amazing. I'm not sure if it has new owners now or what but the food is not the same. They don't use the same shrimp anymore... now it's like the frozen butterfly shrimp. The photos are of what they use to serve

The seafood bag was great . The fried crab pair kind of greasy but the service was exceptionally awesome.

I ordered a dozen a steam #2 Male crabs. I specifically asked if the crab were fresh, because I initially asked for live. They called me back and said they didn't have anymore live but they finished cooking the steamed. I ask several times if they were fresh and she said yes. Once getting home the crabs were mushy, watery and hollow. Certainly do not recommend. I knew something wasn't right when they called me back. I will not be retuning!

If I could give it a zero I would. The crab meat was slimy inside. Just weird. More importantly, the batter was mushy. The battery was so so mushy. Oh my lord it was bad. I ate half of one and ended up throwing the rest out. Between the meat feeling slimy and looking weird, the batter was just so bad, I cannot stress that enough. I only came to this place because my usual place was closed but I HAD to leave a review to do my due diligence. I don't want anyone else to waste their money.
