Nice inside and clean tons of tables and this is my first time here I been wanting to come so I waited for a while before i decided to come after they opened. I walked in see fridge of chinese drinks so I like that. I ordered oahu hawaiian bbq mix chicken, beef and short ribs with fried rice with macroni salad...the macroni salad was ok, the fried rice was ok the strips of chicken and beef was good. The short ribs was good as well. Tons of veggies underneigh the meats. The service cashier who took my order was very nice although the bubble tea machine was not ready ill come back next time to try the drinks I got a soda fountain drink and the soda fountain machine was not working property. It was hard to get the drink out when i pressed the cup to it. I ordered for take out I will come back next time to get the bubble tea, chinese drinks and other food.

I went here with some friends and they wanted dinner one night before we stopped for ice cream. I want to say it was pretty good but I had some time to really think about it. It's doing a bit much as a place. It's definitely stretched a bit thin and offering a lot on their menu, but nothing was incredibly memorable. For the table I got the beef gyoza and we did finish it but I don't think it was anything crazy delicious. My friend got their beef and rice along with some macaroni salad, which I thought was great and seasoned well, but nothing truly exceptional. They also ordered the spam musibi and it was a rather large portion. I think that was a good benefit for that location is that the food portions were large for the amount that you are paying for it. I think this place is one of those locations that can get by and is good to try once, but any more than that and I can't justify spending the amount of money it takes to ear out here for it.

Good portion, but I ordered the bbq chicken and it's just teriyaki, not Hawaiian BBQ. Good Chinese food.

My family and I enjoyed our visit here. Being from the islands I recognize it's very hard to find a place on the east coast that does Hawaiian plate lunch meals well. But I was very impressed with the kalbi short ribs and the Mac salad. They stood out the most. Everything else was good. I'd rank flavor and freshness of meal at a 7/10. The Mac salad and short ribs I'd give a 9/10. Great location and large space inside. I'm not a fan of ordering from a screen. But that's just a personal preference.

While in the area looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch, I stopped by Oahu Hawaiian BBQ to try out their food. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the self-order kiosk which I really liked because it gave me time to look through each item to decide on what I wanted to order. The Hawaiian BBQ Mix caught my eye, it consisted of chicken, beef and short ribs along with macaroni salad, fried rice and broccoli. I figured that was the best item to order since it included a little bit of everything. I also ordered the Spam Musubi, which is a popular Hawaiian snack, and the Peach Berry Fruit Tea as well, which was one of their popular tea flavors. My food was ready fairly quickly and since I happened to run into a friend, I decided to dine in. The Spam Musubi was very good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the spam along with the rice and seaweed. The chicken, beef and short ribs were also delicious, very flavorful and went great with the fried rice. The Peach Berry Fruit Tea was refreshing but I would probably order less boba next time. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Unfortunately, they are located next to a nail shop and I kept smelling acetone and odor from the the nail shop while eating my food so I probably won't dine in next time but I highly recommend trying them out!

Man, I feel bad doing this, but the newly opened Oahu is not ready for the general public. There are issues that I would like to believe are simply new store/grand opening issues, but much of it I feel goes beyond that.Let's begin with the service. When I arrived, I noticed 3 people working. They were friendly when I spoke to them, but they were a little busy as there was a good bit of customers. Being busy is a good thing, though.I immediately went to the kiosk - I knew I wanted to try their Loco Moco (I feel like I have to order that whenever I try out a Hawai'ian eatery for the first time), and I ordered an appetizer - Musubi Trio. I also ordered a fountain soda, paid and the kiosk printed out my receipt. The receipt displays your order number. The staff, when your food's ready, will call out that number so you can pick it up at the counter. That's easy enough, since I've experienced that before at Supreme Wing (at Lynnhaven, whom I believe is changing their name to Aloha Hola) and L & L (in Chesapeake). A word of advice - keep your receipt handy. If you order a fountain drink, they will ask for it before they hand you a cup. As for the interior - all the walls were red. It reminded me of Supreme's interior, but I don't think red is a color used often in Hawai'i. I could be completely wrong about that, though, as I'm not thoroughly knowledgeable in Hawai'ian culture. The important thing is their facility looked clean, although dividers were built which made the dining area smaller. The wait for my food was a little long, but I came in expecting that since they're brand new. Besides, it was a lunch rush, so things got a little crazy. After about 15-20 minutes, my order was ready, but they weren't ready at the same time. I picked up my entree (loco moco) first, then I picked up the musubi trio less than 5 minutes later. At first glance, admittedly, the loco moco didn't look all that appealing. It was apparent both the macaroni salad and slaw were runny. The loco moco didn't look bad, but the presentation was... different. The patties weren't plated side by side, rather stacked, so the gravy only covered the top patty. And, instead of 2 sunny-side up eggs, there was only one. When I tried the loco moco, the patties were overcooked. They were dry and tough, and the gravy was salty. The rice and egg were fine, but I couldn't stomach the slaw (I took a small bite and immediately decided to leave the slaw alone). I'm convinced the slaw was bought from a local grocery - it was all liquid and the cabbage was soggy and limp. The mac salad was okay, but it was just as runny as the slaw. I enjoyed the musubi trio, though. Just in case, the musubi trio is usually a protein and rice in a seaweed wrap. The Trio typically consists of the following - 1 each of spam, BBQ chicken and katsu chicken. They weren't rolled all that well, and they didn't look like traditional musubi, but they tasted good. I would say that the Musubi Trio was the best part of my meal. The staff working during my visit was super nice. They ran into an issue while I was eating - their computer somehow deleted all the orders, so they visited each table to review customers' receipts to reconfirm orders. They were already busy due to volume, but this set them back further. Oahu, in my opinion, needs work, specifically with the quality of their food. Regardless of authenticity, the slaw (and mac salad) cannot be that soggy and watery, the gravy for the loco moco can't be that salty, and its patties can't be overcooked and tough. And I can't get over how the portion sizes of the loco moco's sides were nearly identical to the loco moco itself (i.e., I prefer more entree, less sides, especially if the sides aren't appealing). I'm gonna pass on Oahu for now but thank you for your efforts! JV

Got takeaway from new Hawaiian BBQ restaurant at Loehman's - OahuThe BBQ (grilled) shrimp were delicious. The fried shrimp were basic frozen butterflied shrimp with lots of breading. Macaroni salad was delicious. Fried rice tasted like white rice with a little extra flavor. Short ribs were cut into small pieces, salty, without sweet marinade flavor of Korean style. My bf liked the chicken katsu and BBQ (grilled) chicken. It came with katsu sauce and a sweet pineapple flavored sauce.

My friend and I tried this place and we were pleasantly surprised! The service was great. Ms. Ivy and her staff were helpful with what items were popular. The food took a few minutes to prepare but was hot and a good portion of they have serval sauces to choose from (labeling the bottles would be helpful). Mere macaroni salad was probably my least favorite. Just not a fan in general. Everything was tasty. I really liked the crab rangoons (not Hawaiian but delicious). I feel like they have a petty diverse menu that includes some true Hawaiian options. The portion size alone makes me feel like I would visit again. The spam musabi is also delish! They are large too!4 STARS. I need to find a substitute for the macaroni salad and the sauces need to be labeled. Entering else was good!
