Norfolk Haunted Temple

It was so good! I love scary haunted house and this one delivered. They don't just rely on cheap jump scares but use a lot of amazing special effects, great actors, and interactive props to really get you into the scenes. And it was so long! I really feel like they give you a lot of experience for one haunt. One of the best haunted house I've seen in awhile and I've been to a lot of them in my travels over the years. Definitely worth it!

I am not sure what usually goes on here but last night, a bunch of friends and I came here for the haunted house they put together apparently every year. As we were dropped off at the curb, we noticed a scary clown waiting for us to come in. As we entered, we walked through the temple and checked in with our tickets. We were then shown to the "lobby area" where they had many tables out and concessions available for purchase. The line was not too long. We probably waited 10-15 minutes. They had us put together with a couple making it 6 of us. We watched a couple videos that explained what to expect. I think it was pretty good. They had a bunch of loud sounds, great lighting and scary props. I do not want to give too much away but I feel like it was put together pretty well. I would definitely recommend going.

We attended the PFLAG queer prom here last weekend, and it was a great space for it! There was a large dance hall, so plenty of room for guests to dance and have a good time. They set up several tables and had desserts for guests to sample. I doubt those were from the actual space itself -- it seemed like more of a place that would function really well if you needed a wedding reception hall or something like that. Parking was easy access, which is nice because that's not always the case in Norfolk. Overall, if you are looking to host an event and need a large space, this certainly would fit the bill. Since I was just an attendee and not the planner, I don't know what the rental prices will run you, but my first instinct when I walked in was, "oh this would be a great space for a wedding reception."

Beware: Spoiler alert!! Came here for their haunted house. Pretty good props! The last half was clown themed with 3d glasses which were so worn, I had to hold them up the entire time. Also, one of the actors screamed in my ear wheich was almost painful. I liked Frightmare more but with the groupon it was worth a run through. Just be prepared to wait!

I love volunteering here as an usher. Everyone is nice, friendly and overall a fun place to volunteer at. It's pretty swag :D - Jasmine

My experience with the Masonic temple has been absolutely amazing! I had my wedding ceremony and reception here, and it was the best experience of my life. Marta was nothing but helpful and accommodating, down to every last detail. She helped to make sure that everything went smoothly, including throwing in extra decorations and linens to make my event more beautiful. I highly recommend having any and all events here and working with this amazing team! Thank you to the Masonic temple for making my big day super easy and special!

Probably the best haunted house I have ever been to! I won't forget this for a very long time.

My family and I go every year at Halloween time. Recommend waiting until kids are 8 or older depending on how scared they get.

Definitely recommend the Norfolk Haunted Temple! Better than Howl-O-Scream! Line went fast and actors keep you entertained while waiting. They have areas setup with props for photos too. This place is amazing. If you have an appreciation for haunted houses, this is the place for you. The employees were great and the line wasn't too long. On the other hand, the actual haunt is very long and it is obvious that they put a lot of work into it. Their use of ambiance (lighting, theme, tactility, etc) was great. They give you a lot to see without having redundant jump scares. They allow the feeling of dread built as you go and it works. The Haunted Temple is the best haunted house in Hampton Roads!
