Nomini Bay Oyster Ranch

Nomini Oysters has a pop-up tent that can often be found on weekends at Northern VA wineries and breweries. I had their grilled oysters when visiting the Winery at Bull Run. I thought they were delicious. They apparently operate an oyster ranch on the Northern Neck but seem a bit secretive about where. They apparently don't have a fixed store but will make arrangements for those wanting to buy oysters. Their website events page shows where and when they will be offering oysters. I highly recommend their grilled oysters.

If you love sweet, buttery fresh oysters, this is the place to get them. Husband and wife team, Paul and Tori are so friendly and accommodating. Call ahead and they will harvest the oysters just before you arrive, can't get any fresher than that! They will have them tumbled, sorted, power washed and boxed up by the time you pick them up. Paul even gave us a tour. They employ Hannah who took 2nd place in the oyster shucking contest last year. She gave us an oyster shucking demo... her technique really works, even for us newbies! We went back a week later and got 10 dozen more.
