No Frill Bar and Grill

Time to get a Rueben sandwich at No Frills but today, after seeing one customer with a massive cut of meatloaf, it was meatloaf with all the trimmings of mashed potato, green beans, cornbread, and a chunky slice of meatloaf. While waiting for the meatloaf, I had to a bowl of their famous chili, and a nice helping of calamari salad. Alot to eat but there's always a to go box:-)))Starting with the famous chili - yum!! It's a conglomerate of soft whole kidney beans, chunky sliced tomatoes, a hefty amount of ground beef, topped with grated cheese. Not spicy but just right to the taste. The chili itself was a filler.Had to take a bite of the meatloaf and the fixin's. Good flavor and blends well with the mashed potato. The green beans were nice crunchy and sweet. And this was to go, minus the green beans. I mixed it with the calamari salad.The calamari salad was nice. I should have waited for the salad before digging into the chili. It would have been an excellent combo. Will do this on next visit. Diced crispy Romains with cherry tomato, bits of carrots, black beans, shoe peg corn, grated cheese, calamari, and with just the right amount of dressing. No to go on this one:-)))Quick to serve and the dining area is kept clean by constant sweeper vacuum and sanitizing of used tables.

This has been my favorite restaurant . Service is always a 5 star. When you walk in it always looks busy but we always get in fast and always get great service, great drinks and great food. When we have family coming in from out of town we always take them to No Frill Bar and Grill. They have a wide variety of options from vegetarian to seafood. And everything in between. I have had countless wonderful meals here. Sometimes something as simple as a bowl of Chili. ALWAYS great quality and plenty of flavor in everything they make.It is always clean and bathrooms are always clean, plenty of parking. We have celebrated birthdays. We have had Christmas parties. We have made reservations, We have just walked up with a party of 7 and been seated quickly and everyone has raved about the food after. Even when the food comes to the table and we have all ordered something different. We are checking out what the other person got because it looks so good. I am telling you I have always had a great experience. Ambiance SPECTACULAR!!!!!!

No Frill is a consistently good spot for lunch or dinner. I would argue that dinner is really their specialty with a robust menu and solid cocktails. The service is always fast and friendly. You can't go wrong with the steak! No Frill always feels like a welcoming neighborhood grill.

Bravo to the staff at the hilltop location!A few months ago we came and my buddy had a salmon dish over cheesy Grits with asparagus! We got here right as it started to get Saturday night Busy.He was sad when he didn't see the dish he wanted on the menu!Our Server Jacqueline said she would check and see I was amazed the kitchen said they would be happy to make it !Our server was amazing before they BTW I had the tuna pita talk about over stuffed and FRESh Of course, with a special order in the kitchen, we were expecting additional charges, but there was no extra charges I've always been the big fan of no-frills but this taste it to the next level. Thank you for making our day.

We were together for a girls day out and one of us knew about this place so she suggested that we dine here while another of us suggested we do so before the prime lunch hour hit so we could secure perfect seats. At 11:30 am, all five of us were able to peruse the menu at our leisure and order our drinks then our meals. Goodness gracious the portions were so huge that I couldn't finish my meal and neither could any of the three other friends. One friend was smart and ordered just a cup of chili so of course she finished it. My crab cake sandwich was so delicious, mainly crab and just enough filler to keep it together with a side of sauted spinach. So lovely to see spinach untainted by cream but I was too full to enjoy it. The place was packed full of customers by noon so we applauded that one friend who was witty enough to have thought of getting here earlier. Then we left to go SHOPPING!!!

This our go to when we are up at hilltop we love the onion soup, the French dip is spline any sandwich is great.

I'm glad I don't live closer because I would come here too much!Our family who lives in Virginia Beach suggested this spot when I said I wanted seafood while at a track meet at the sports center. Boy, they did NOT steer me wrong. This unassuming metal diner-like building could easily be overlooked for the gem inside. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Nicole, our server, was the absolute best!I started with a pomegranate lemon drop. I'm not a fan of pomegranate but this cocktail was very tasty. It's a tad tart but that's why I love lemon drops. I chose the seafood trilogy with coleslaw and black bean salsa for my late lunch/early dinner. That had to be the best thing on the menu. The flounder was thick and fried to perfection. The shrimp were huge and also fried perfectly. The crab cake was void of much filler and was great with the best remoulade I think I've ever had. I was taken aback that the salsa was cold initially but the flavor made up for the shock in temperature. The coleslaw was also good. I did not have room to touch the cornbread. Fast service, and huge servings!I had the Fish n Chips and the wife had French Dip! This was AFTER we each had an order of French Onion soup! Way too much for us to eat, so we had plenty of leftovers!Our waiter was there when we needed him both didn't hover over us. Definitely will return ... highly recommend!

This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant, and they did not disappoint! This place was bustling during dinner rush, though luckily we got seated right away.We tried our their fish & Chips, Seafood trilogy and cheeseburger. Everything was cooked perfectly and all of the seafood tasted fresh. The portion was huge that you could easily have a leftover for another meal.Despite the place being busy and quite loud, I would say it is a perfect spot for a family dinner or a date.Will definitely visit when I come back to VB again

No Frill is genuinely very good food for a fair price. Service is always top notch and the ambiance/place is always looking good. Very good selection, we tried the Turkey panini and the cheeseburger this time and neither entree disappointed us. Nachos rock - without question - get them loaded and strap on the feed bag - yummy. Thank you for another great experience
