NN Burger - Tappahannock

Was on my way to VA Beach for some deep-sea fishing and 4 miles from Tappa, it got cancelled, so me and brother-in-law diverted to NNB. The food is quality, perhaps in the top 3 of burgers for places like this and the only reason I'm not giving a 5, is the services needs improvement...it wasn't terrible, however when you have to ask twice or remind folks for accessories, that's a distraction. Additionally, it's noisy, but that ok because they have plenty of TVs, so it has the sports bar vibe. I highly recommend this establishment, and I want to leave you with one thought...it's a burger joint for a reason, so please order a burger...LOL!

Just ate at this place 3 min ago. We were excited as we've heard good things. So first off walking in we were greeted and we asked to sit by the window because there were less people and we wanted to be able to chat and not disrupt anyone else but also so my friend can hear (away from the crowd the waitress plopped the menus down as if annoyed it set the vibe right away, but ok maybe it's been a busy day. They don't have their drinks n the menu so every soft drink my friend asked for they didn't have but when asked what they did have she couldn't tell us... I think her attempt at sarcasm came off as just snarky and quite frankly rude. We ordered and my friend ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with the sauce and whatnot on the side. She read it back to us so we know she heard it. Her sandwich came out before the rest of us and it was wrong. My friend said politely said to the young girl that brought it that it was made wrong. They took the sandwich with an eye roll and then our food came out. My burger and fries were amazing. The food was very good. However we were done eating before my friend eventually said to take it off the check and left. They brought the sandwich out 5 min later. I paid for it as it was made. We asked for a box 3x before my other friend got up and asked at the bar. Again met with an attitude like asking 3 x for a box isn't patient enough. We already settled our checks. As we were leaving they are all just standing there looking at us. So my review is the food is amazing. Get it to go - because the service is nothing to brag about. Maybe the waitress had a bad night but apparently her bad mood rubbed off on her coworkers. Don't be salty having to remake a sandwich that you messed up relaying the order to the cook. Or maybe the cook messed up, either way my friend didn't do anything to deserve the attitude when she just asked for the sandwich to be made to her order. We were nothing but polite even after all the attitude. I don't live here so I won't be back anyway but listen I'm not someone who complains. I understand crap happens but I am big on customer service and this world is mean enough. It's expensive and we just wanted to have a good meal not deal with whatever they had going on in there tonight.

Large space and tables are not very crowded. Freshly prepared burgers. My group had a simple cheese burger which was good. A bacon cheeseburger which was also good. I had a French onion plant based burger and I'd say that it was barely cooked. The French onions were cold and the cheese wasn't melted onto the burger at all. 2/3 isn't bad. The crisp potatoes were more thick cut potato chips. Dark and well done. Ok. Not the best burger that any of us have had in Virginia like their claim however the service was great. There's a. Nice littleHandwashing station in the dining area so you can clean your hands before and/or after your meal. That was a nice touch. We were there on a Friday night and they have live music which was also a nice touch.

We visit 1-2 times a year when we're in town to visit family. This place had become a must visit for us every time we're here. We drive about 40 minutes from King George to eat here, and the last time I tried to visit in August, we drove all the way out there and they were sold out of lobster rolls. Well, we're back again for the holidays and visited for lunch yesterday. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I ordered my usual, a lobster roll, Connecticut style. It came out soggy and cold. It completely fell apart when I tried to pick it up to eat it, and it was disgusting. Really sucks to spend $27 on this to not even be able to eat it, and not to mention the new way of service wasn't great either. Sometimes change is good, but not in this case.

Burger was overcooked..beer was flat..service was slow. Tourist trap * id expect better considering I just spent 80$

Came here on a whim passing by tappahanock. We stopped at this burger joint NN and this place was packed . There was live music playing when I entered the building . Atmosphere was cool . I ordered lobster roll , so did my husband . It's in the pricier side but it was amazing. Came with home made potato chips which paired really well. It was definitely worth the wait . Will be back!

Wash your hands and enjoy a Big beefy burger and NN. They lay claim to the Best Burgers in Virginia Award from a regional magazine and the claim is well earned. Walk up to the counter for made to order burgers, followed by a short wait. They recently added lobster rolls which look fantastic but I stuck to what they're best known for-burgers. I had the Top Notch Truffle Burger and their house crisper fries. Wife had the sunrise brunch burger. Food was great. They had local live music there when I visited- a teen acoustic guitar playing, young girl with a pleasant voice and an engaging stage presence.Atmosphere was inviting and casual. One more thing- this place is clean and they have a whole thing about hand washing with special handwashing songs in the bathroom playing overhead and hand washing stations in the dining room. If you're a germaphobe or just fastidious about clean dining (who isn't, right?) then you'll appreciate this kinda unique aspect of this small town treasure in Tappohannock, VA.

Came in on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. It was understandably busy but there seemed to be some confusion amongst staff as to taking orders vs ordering at the counter. Food took about 40 min to arrive and was really tasty.

We love to come here when we visit Tappahannok for athletic events. So, so disappointed to walk in last night and find that now there are waitresses! What was wrong with the old system of ordering at the counter? Had to add a tip to an already pricey meal, just for the waitress to walk 6 feet to bring our meal (after she finished checking her phone). They messed up something that made the place unique.

Today's experience was terrible. Slow service, mixed up orders, inattentive staff, poor food quality. Fries were cold, lobster roll was plain and burger was mediocre at best. This will be my last visit here as it continues to go down hill.
