New York Deli & Pizza Restaurant

This was our choice for lunch after my mother and I did some last minute Christmas Shopping. After checking out the menu we decided on the Reuben sandwich and also ordered one to go for my dad. The carrot cake in the case up front caught our eye so we decided to split a slice. The food was ready pretty quickly and I was shocked at how big the sandwiches were! They were huge and my mother and I could have split one sandwich. The flavors were on point, very true to that New York deli vibe. The carrot cake was three layers and very flavorful. The cream cheese frosting was perfect, not too sweet. The menu itself is extensive, so there is something for everyone. I'm looking forward to taking the rest of my family there to try it out especially now that I know they have gluten free options that my husband can have.

New York Deli has earned its popularity by serving up large portions of good food at fair prices. We have enjoyed their Ruben sandwich, which is HUGE!! One sandwich can feed two people. It's stacked high with corned beef. Their chicken tenders and fries are also very good. Pizza is excellent--whether you like plain or with lots of fresh toppings. While it's thin crust, the crust holds the sauce and toppings without falling apart. Service is friendly and efficient. You order at a counter and pick up to take to your table or to go. You also can call in your order. I love that they don't box up your to-go fries until you arrive so they don't get soggy in the box. The interior is busy and cheerful. Locals love this place, so there are lots of friendly groups having conversations. It can get loud because everyone is having a good time. Parking is free and located in front of the restaurant.

The food was tasty...The organization of getting the food to each person was a sloppy mess. We waited over an hour to receive a pizza pie and a sub; based on the orders being called as each item was ready instead of calling orders when full orders were ready.If Gordon Ramsay was eating there he would have shut it down. Again food tastes, great. But, with the ridiculous wait time we ended up taking the second part of our order to go as a one hour wait for a basic sub was truly unacceptable. If we ever go back we would order al carte to make sure we were not forgotten.And on top of it the manager was chatting with a friend at a table having probably no idea what was going on in the kitchen.

Good variety of pizza, sandwiches, and salads. Very busy. Loud for a business lunch and great for a large group to hang out. Clean. Food is served when ready so be prepared to start eating at different times. Which means to get hot food hot. Will return.

After a morning of shopping at the Williamsburg Premium Outlet Mall, headed towards the New York Deli & Pizza Restaurant.Unlike a few others, I found the order taker to be very pleasant in the midst of an early Saturday afternoon rush.I ordered the Reuben sandwich and onion rings, my wife had a BLT and fries, while my son had the 8" cheese calzone and fries.The order took a bit of time, but it was understandable based on the volume of diners. The Reuben was huge, like those served in NYC. The big difference was the price, which was less than half of what you can expect to pay in the city. It is by far the best I've had in Virginia! The onion rings were crispy, but honestly, the onions didn't have much flavor.Like my Reuben, my son's Calzone was huge as well, as were his small order of fries. In a monumental event, I don't think he made it halfway through before tossing in the towel. He said both were good.Not sure why my wife settled on the BLT, but she wasn't enthralled with it, which I attribute to her choice of sandwich. The bill for the food plus two sodas and a slice of cheesecake to go was a little north of $50, which is great given the magnitude and quality of what is served.Definitely will stop in again in a future visit where I'm hankering for deli food.

Busy as always but fast service allowing us to dine in and enjoy our delicious subs. I enjoyed half a genuine NY sub while Hubby had the sausage and onion parmigiana sub. So incredibly tasty with fabulous meat. This is the place to come when you crave the City's food but don't want to travel there. Finger licking good!

Always fast service (allowing for the crowds, of course). Counter servers are always speedy but courteous. Food is always great. Decor is nothing fancy, but that's not why we're here! Today we were in sandwich mood, but since it was cold and rainy, we wanted them hot. I had sausage and pepper parmesan, Wife had New York sub. Any sub or sandwich can be made hot, and these were perfectly done, just the right hint of char and cheese was a nice, molten topping. Will keep coming as long as my waistline allows!

First time here and won't be our last, especially if you are looking for a great white pizza or over-stuffed sandwich! Or even a giant slice of carrot cake! Stopped by around 7:30 on a Saturday night and this place was still very busy. It's an order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called. We maybe waited about 15 minutes ay the max for our food and that included the pizza. The food was good, especially the white pizza. Great crust and flavor. The ricotta adds just enough creaminess but not overpowering! My husband loved his Apollo sandwich and was enormous and enough for two meals. Onion rings were nice and crispy. We grabbed a slice of carrot cake as well and it was nice and moist and huge! Enough for two people.

Working in Williamsburg for 3 days, lunch here twice. "Healthy" subs, sub alone was a meal!! Had a turkey rueben, which was excellent!
