Food was good . Service was quick. Wish they fix their front door tho. Ambiance is like any other to go chinese spot. I would recommend, nothing bad to say .

Food was just ok. I had the Singapore pancit. A little kick with a lot of salt. Be cautious if you need to cut back on sodium. This is not the dish for you. Also had the teriyaki and it was over cooked and kind of dry. I have had better food from here in the past.

So we were out finishing up some last-minute Christmas shopping and my wife remembered that she really liked the pancit from this particular restaurant. So we drove halfway across town from Lynnhaven mall to get Chinese food to go. 1st of all, this is located in probably one of the sketchest shopping centers in town. So we got there and placed our order, and of course, she did not order the pancit. I ordered the curry chicken, and this was about the best thing we had. They definitely know how to bring the heat in the correct way with the curry. Unfortunately, like most restaurants, I give them a second chance, but this time is going to be the exception. Considering there are so many Chinese food take out places, I see no reason to return to this establishment.

Well I was in the area visiting the beauty supply store and I figured, since I have started back on my journey to better health and eating habits...Oh hey Chinese!! You may be thinking, this is not healthy, well in my mind, back in the day it worked for me. While it definitely depends on what you order, it is also equally important to know how the food is prepared. Well why you may never know how it's prepared of what they are using... it's safe to order veggies.A small broccoli with garlic sauce please to go.I placed my order and it was ready for pick up in about 10 minutes. The young lady that took my order was ready ... they are usually on point when it comes to service.I was expecting my meal to be in a plastic tray of some sort, but nope... I guess it was more convenient to pack the cute Chinese take out boxes. The portion size was plenty for me.This entree is marked as 'spicy' but it's not spicy IMO. While this isn't my favorite spot, I will be back if I am in the area.Have fun and enjoy life :)

This is my new favorite go-to Chinese restaurant! The building looks ghetto and sketchy, but inside is relatively clean if not aesthetically pleasing by any means. But their food! Yum!My favorites, so far, are the lo mein, crab Rangoon, and bourbon chicken. My friend and I agree that those three things are incredibly delicious! Their fried rice is just ok, and their need & broccoli is less than mediocre, but I will ALWAYS go back for my three favorites!

QUICK REVIEW!INTRO:New China is a Chinese takeout restaurant off of Indian River Rd just before you get to the bridge that takes you to the old Ford Plant and Norfolk. It's a perfectly decent place to get Chinese takeout.THE GOOD:This is American style Chinese takeout. No more, no less. Some Chinese places these days will try to mix it up a little and add some Thai and other more exotic Asian stuff to their menus, but New China is not one of them. They stick to your classic American Chinese restaurant fare, and they do it pretty well. I've eaten here several times after recently starting a new job nearby, and so far I've been pretty satisfied with what I've ordered. I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't disappointed either. This place is pretty average, but that's OK IMO. They're pretty fast. I'm about 10 minutes away from them, and they've always had the food ready by the time I got there to pick it up. They use metal containers, which some people prefer over plastic.THE NOT AS GOOD:I don't have too much to say here. I really haven't had any problems here. Again, this place will probably not blow you away, but you should walk away satisfied.OVERALL:This a perfectly decent place to get Chinese food in this part of town. To call it a "hidden gem" would be overstating things. If you want some pretty basic Chinese takeout, this place should fit the bill just fine.

I had the fried chicken plate and the general tso's chicken plate. Both were very good. This place is great. Very fast and very friendly service. And very low priced. They have a great mix of traditional dishes as well as Americanized fast dishes. Whatever your in the mood for, they have something you'll like. This place was packed with people and I can see why. Everyone was ordering the fried chicken which is cooked perfectly. Juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. You must eat this chicken fresh. If you love Chinese-style fried chicken or any fried chicken for that matter, you have to try this place. There aren't very many reviews but this place was packed. And for being so packed I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Good stuff. Low priceGreat flavorGreat serviceA little crowded sometimes but worth the wait.

For to-go Chinese food, this place is the best. Their steamed dumplings are amazing. When ordering over the phone, the girl answering can come off a little rude but I don't think it's intentional. The food is great. If you're in the area, check it out!

This place SUCKS!!! I wanted something to eat but wanted to stay within budget. I figured go to Chinese for lunch special. 18 dollars later I got the worst tasting house special fried rice. It had peas, bean sprouts, and carrots included in with the meat. The lack of taste to it was the worst. Pu-Pu platter.....the name fits......I thought about getting my money back but how?? All I can do is warn those that decide to try this place after me. DON'T.
