Your room door!
Sand and paint, wouldn't be that hard...
Your ocean view!
White stains on sheets!
Bathroom had these little bugs behind the door like they had been sprayed
Curtains upon check in
Don't even clean them just replace them. So many little things that would be easy/cheap to fix and/or clean.
Bathroom vanity
Old tvs, flat screens are dirt cheap now loose these things in a dumpster somewhere.

I wasn't expecting luxury, but I didn't expect to find a lack of cleanliness and disorder. We ended up checking out of the room after 15mins, giving us time to inspect the room and book another hotel. The inn is outdated, which I was aware of, but there seems to be a lack of staff for upkeep. When I informed the front desk receptionist and manager of the issues with the room they started talking amongst themselves about how they'd had rowdy guests in the past few days that had broken mirrors and asked each other to confirm if the room I was given had been cleaned. Something a guest shouldn't have to sort out after being given keys to a room. When I asked about the ceiling possibly having mold I was told that particular room hadn't been the one with mold, it was another room. They offered to change rooms but at that point I didn't trust the cleanliness of any of the rooms or the service. I was told that I would need to speak to hotels.com to refund my booking because they couldn't see the price of the booking and didn't handle charges, but hotels.com customer service confirmed that the inn is the one that processes the charges. I was also told they couldn't see my booking price for my stay, but the front desk employee had me sign a print out of my charges when I checked in and had just used a white board marker to mark out the total. Hotels.com customer service tried to call the inn multiple times to initiate a refund and couldn't get anyone on the phone (I had the same issue before checking in). In the end I had to go through my bank to dispute the charges and get my refund. The inn also still charged the resort fee after I had checked out but considering the hoops I had to jump through a $26 dispute wasn't worth it.

If i could give zero starts i would. When arriving early (2:30pm) as check-in time is 4pm, the worker never even checked to see if a room was available. This is by far the most unprofessional hotel I've stayed in. The hallways smell of cat urine. The assistant manager was dressed like she should be working the strip. (No bra, tank top & ripped jeans) my daughter took a shower and noticed black mold on the shower curtain so i walked down stairs to get a CLEAN one. Assistant manager handed me a "clean" shower curtain that ALSO HAD MOLD SPOTS ALL OVER IT! Also, while booking online Neptune inn promotes a pool which THEY DO NOT HAVE. If you plan to pay in cash, do not book in advance because they automatically charge your card the day of check-in!!!!

If you can afford anything else do it. If not expect to vaccum your own room like I did. A small facelift would do worlds for this place as the view of the ocean is as good as the hotels on the other side of the street (that are actually on the beach). This hotel faces their parking lot from the other side of the street so it gives a pretty decent view of the water. All rooms face the same way so they all get the view. That's the good. The bad is old sheets and towels with stains, carpet that's probably been around since the 70's, old furniture, old tvs, old appliances, lots of areas that could use some drywall mud, skim and paint, oh and I asked the front desk for extra pillows three times and never did end up getting any. Stay here if your budget dictates you must but expect an old run down motel 6 type accommodations. As of yet no bugs or rodents found but I'll update if needed.

Booked a 2 night stay thru Booking.com only to find out there were no rooms available. Desk clerk was rude and unhelpful. Pool was out of order and parking lot is ridiculously small and crowded. Do not stay at this dump

This is a ONE STAR hotel. (If you want luxury, check in across the street at one of the "H" hotels, and you'll understand what luxury is. You'll also pay about 5 times more while you're at it.) Facility is fine. New paint makes a nice difference. Common areas in the lobby and breakfast area are as nice as any 1 star I've ever stayed in, (and I travel every week.) Elevator is smallish and can't handle but 3 or so people, but it works fine and gets you where you need to be, without excessive waiting, (which I've experienced elsewhere.) Room is likewise fine. Beds were decent, marble sink and surround, TV with remote, coffee maker, all standard. New massaging shower head and curved curtain rod made showering an actual pleasure. (Plenty of pressure and hot water, too.) Best feature is the ocean view, as all rooms face eastward. Balcony with chairs is very nice, and the ocean breeze made for a delightful environment. Room service was adequate, as the beds were made every day and the floor vacuumed. (Towel replenishment was lacking, though.) NO EVIDENCE of any creepy-crawlies at all. None. Outside walkways are probably the worst feature, as they are older and harder to maintain. The doors to the rooms are metal, and are pretty scruffy. Definitely the worse feature of this place. Still, they have key card locks and are securable. A wall safe is available for valuables. Decent place FOR A ONE STAR HOTEL. Keep that in mind when you set your expectations.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at!! I had to be move from the fourth floor to the third because my room was completely filthy. I did not get any coffee when I called and ask for it. Worst of all I had to trip dry because I couldn't get any towels. I went to your front desk and your worker told me I should have save a towel from yesterday!!! I will never stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not believe this was how I was treated.

Do not stay here. The location is the only positive factor, being that it is close to the beach, and that is not a redeeming quality. The building is extremely outdated, dilapidated and dirty. The bathroom is moldy and small, and the rest of the room is not much better. The "balcony" is little more than a dirty cement slab. The furniture is stained, worn, and missing upholstery. To say that I fear someone was murdered in this room is not a stretch. The "free" WiFi could mean that you can access another hotel's WiFi, but this hotel didn't have any. We were enticed by the low price and misleading pictures posted online. This low rating is all before consideration of the $150 worth of items stolen from our room while we were on the boardwalk. There are affordable alternatives nearby, and I advise you pursue them before considering staying here. If you must stay here I would advise staying one night, and not leaving the room unattended.
