a plate of rice and a bowl of sauce
My first plate from our 5 course takeout order. It was all very good, but light on the protein.

The food is always great and only bested by the service and friendliness of the staff. The owner always makes you feel like you're at their dinner table. The buffet has returned!

Friendly, Fast and Delicious food! I had the smooth Butter Chicken and added the flavorful Garlic Naan... heavenly. Don't forget the dessert, a slice of peanut butter sent me apply home. I had to box up my leftovers for tomorrow.

The cream curry sauces are pretty good at Nawab, as are the vegetable pakora, ghobi manchurian, bargain bhartha, and garlic naan. I am sure that they do those orange and red turmeric tinted sauces as well as most. We did take out, and paid well over $100. for the four dishes, two appetizers and naan. They included two chicken dishes, one with shrimp, one salmon and the eggplant. When we opened everything up to serve ourselves, it was obvious that all were light in protein - little chicken, 3 small shrimp and less salmon. The dish with the very good tamarind coconut curry sauce was apart from a plain small chicken breast, so that we had to cut it up and mix into the sauce. Not exactly generous portions, nor a finished product. In fact, the only thing sufficient about our expensive spread were the two containers of basmati rice they provided to absorb the tasty gravies. Well, thanks for that. We all wondered whether the eat-in customers received the same desultory platters we enjoyed? Our consensus was that if that were the case, they wouldn't have much repeat business. But, looking around the nearly empty dining room on a Friday night when picking up our meal, perhaps we were witnessing the evidence that our subsequent theory was correct. We just didn't understand what we were looking at until later. Disappointing. This was one first impression that would also be our last.

Oh, YUM!After a busy and exhausting day, I called Nawab for takeout. I ordered the Peshawari naan, vegetarian Pakora appetizer, and the Lamb Hariyali Lazatdaar. It was all delicious! I wish I could've had some friends along with me, so that we could have had more dishes. Although I did not eat at the restaurant, it is a lovely dining room, perfect for date night, and the staff were very nice and kind. I wish I lived in the area so that I could dine here often.Note: A number of years ago, my husband and I ate at Nawab in Norfolk, and this is a "sister Restaurant." The family does cuisine well.

Nawab - Oh my goodness, where to start. This restaurant has been a staple for my family for some time, one of the after-church lunch locations that we would frequent. They used to have the most wonderful buffet before the pandemic, but have not yet brought it back, fingers crossed that they do. The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Ambiance is very...intimate? It is quiet, so you can enjoy a very lovely meal and have a nice chat without loud bolstering noise. It is romantic at dinner time, perfect for a date-night, which I would recommend. The service is exceptional, everyone is so kind and gracious, it really does feel like the owners are inviting you in to dine and enjoy a meal that they have prepared. Really cannot say enough about the wonderful service and food. So back to the food.Having missed this place, my husband and I ventured back. We placed an online order of the Vegan Family meal, with additional Roti and Chutneys (still stayed a while and chatted with the folks). The order was perfectly on time and ready for pickup when we arrived. The Vegan Family Meal consisted of the following (descriptions of the food is what was written on the menu and is not my interpretation):Subz Samosa - Vegetable Turnovers with a spicy potatoes and green pea fillingDal Tadka - slow cooked yellow lentils in a garlic and ginger sauceBaingan Bhartha - Mashed tandoor broiled eggplant with garlic and tomatoes,Goan Vegetable Curry - Vegetable with mustard seeds in a light coconut curry sauceAnd, of course, rice.We also ordered the Roti, which is a whole wheat unleavened bread, and some onion chutney and mango chutney. All of the food was delectable, my husband and I both absolutely love the Goan Vegetable Curry and the Subz Samosas. I am a huge fan of eggplant so I willingly allowed my husband to have more of the Curry while I partook of the Baingan Bhartha. The Dal Tadka was good but it seemed that the lentils were a little more done than we prefer, not a jest, we completely understand that lentils are a very quick cooking legume. The Onion Chutney is a must try, so delicious. The mango was a little sweet for me, but still nice to have on some of the remaining Roti to close out the meal. There was a lot of food so we most certainly had dinner for two days.I used to eat here before I turned to plant-based whole food and can attest to the fact that ALL of their food is highly recommended. I would really love the buffet to be brought back, wishful thinking? I can truly say that this place is easily a 5 out of 5. If you ever have a bad experience here, I am truly sorry and ask that you please give them a second chance.Thank you for reading my really long rant about this restaurant, I hope you try them in the near future.Cheers.

So... gonna go out on a limb and say, best garlic naan in the city. And believe me, I've tried. I love, absolutely love the curry dishes. The tandoori is a hit and goat is always tinder. Not sure if the lady that works there is the manager or owner, but she is an absolute treat and makes every customer service experience great. I love this place and the price, though a bit steep is well worth it.As a dine in option, you definitely feel like you're some place that puts effort into the ambience and dining experience! The only complaint is I'd probably want more naan in a single order, but that's not really a complaint is it?

The spice level I chose was level 3 - medium hot. If you're into spicy food but not overwhelmingly hot food, this would be a great option for you. The curry is rich and creamy which I'm a big fan of. It also has fenugreek spices and the food is gluten free. This was my first time trying this and it was soo tasty.

We are celebrating my friend birthday & we arrived when they opened for dinner. The ambience of this place was cozy, the owner is the only server which takes a little bit longer to take our orders, The owner/ server is friendly but since she's super busy she keeps her communication short. The food was good and well seasoned, the amount of chicken they served is so little. The reason I rated 3 stars because I asked for extra masala sauce and it was served in a very small container ( to go container) and cost me $7. The owner didn't let me know that it will cost $7 for a very small masala sauce, if I could only known I won't order an extra sauce or if the sauce in a bigger container probably I won't mind. I don't justify a $7 sauce in a tiny container.
