Napoli é

After being ignored at our chosen spot in Smithfield we headed back for some sure to win us Bojangles when I remembered there used to be a BBQ place at the nearby shopping center. My Yelp search told me the BBQ was gone but in its place was this darling Italian eaterie. I had no expectations as I was just going by the photos-and they had me hooked, line and sinker! Hubby asked me what was I ordering & I replied "one of everything!!" I was pretty sure I knew the answer but I asked our server if the lasagna was homemade & since it was that's what I chose. It was so very fresh tasting, reminding me of the stuffed raviolis we would get in Palau, Sardinia. The multiple lasagna layers were so plentiful that the portion size was enough for me to have leftovers-twice! My husband is a man of few words but the ten that he had to share regarding his Gnocchi Bolognese were all quite complimentary. Honestly, this place is so far from our house but the food so good that we immediately made a promise to ourselves to be back in a month. I mentioned to our server Caitlin to let the chef know how much we loved our lunch that he immediately came out & introduced himself. It was our pleasure meeting Max and hearing and feeling the love and warmth he has for his home country that we were transported back to our time in Italy.Napoli è is an hour from our home but we are already making plans to go back. And Max even gave us his business card for us to call when we're on our way for reservations. You can not get this type of hospitality at a chain restaurant or even that little Cafe that we tried to dine at in Smithfield.If you don't dine here you are doing your taste buds a huge disservice and really, isn't life already full of disappointments. Why put your belly through that?

The food was excellent. Staff was delightful and service was prompt. We will return very soon.

Fantastic food! Authentic pizza! Max does a great job here! We love stopping in this little gem. The food is always great, and Max is a great guy (owner).

Loved our pizza here! They were really nice and such a personable ambiance. I was greeted with a smile immediately. Our food didn't take too long to be ready either.

Nice little Italian restaurant here in Carrollton. Prices have not been raised ridiculously like some places.

Literally the best pizza and bread I've had in Hampton roads. After the first slice I had to speak to the owner. He makes the dough fresh every morning. The toppings are fresh and the services is top notch. I haven't tried the Italian entrees yet but the pizza is amazing.

Everything about this place is JUST fantastic; from the servers, the food, and the owner. Very family oriented. We reserved a table for 7 and we did not have to wait to be seated. Small family owned establishment, but do not let the outside fool you, this place is a gem. We ordered a lot of appetizers and it was yummy. Everything is homemade. Worth a trip.

I had to make a yelp account just to leave this review. I have never written a customer food review in my life, but as a food industry/customer service worker, this was NOT it. Owners are rude, staff is clearly miserable, food was mediocre at best, things dont look super clean behind the counter. I was excited to have an italian food option that wasnt Anna's pizza. Normally, I love to support small local business, but this was a miss for me.

So I just stopped this establishment to buy my wife some dinner on my way home from work. Ordered my food over the phone for it. I stopped and picked up my food and paid for it and even had some little small talk with the staff. After picking up my order, I was headed out the door with both hands full and I hear, "today's biggest tipper"........No, I don't tip on food when I stopped to pick it up. What am I tipping you for? Getting my food out of the kitchen that I paid for? Ring me up at the register in order to take my money? You didn't walk my food out to my car or even offering me napkins and extra plates. I'm pretty sure it was the employee that looks like she fell face first into a tacklebox that said this. What you don't realize young lady, do you think I'll ever take my wife there and sit down in order to have dinner and have you wait on me next time? I'm driving home from work. I'm gonna stop at that establishment?Do you think the owner is happy that you just made a customer not want to come back? You do realize that if that owner loses his business, you lose your job, which is based on people who buy food? Do you think the owner is happy that now somebody's leaving at one star review on yelp

A refreshing and authentic italian experience. The food was fresh and flavorful. I have had the pleasure of enjoying authentic italian food in italy and this place transported me back. Highly recommend. Max and his wife are the most gracious host! Grazi milli! Viva Napoli!
