I've eaten a lot of grits on the beach here but their grits are the best served on the Outer Banks! They are available to purchase to take home!

we absolutely love this gem of a restaurant...we make a point to visit as the service, food, and ambience is "perfect obx". Our party was so surprised when the owner recognized us from last year after only visiting twice! Talk about making visitors feel extremely welcome. Just lovely! Tip: order the fried pickles and onion rings (some of the best we have ever had), the fresh catch of the day never disappoints and their bloody mary (yum)!

If you must know, all my reviews happened at one time because my family was enjoying the OBX too much to take time to argue with petty business owners around here like yourself. Here's your detail: Upon visiting this restaurant, my party and I encountered a number of disappointments. The chicken tenders were overcooked, kids pizza was only bread and cheese, burger was bland with soggy AND stale chips, buffalo chicken sandwich came out missing ingredients, and dry grilled chicken sandwich were all underwhelming in terms of flavor and quality. You are up charged for everything! If you would like to pay $90 to feed 5 people lunch, this is your place. To make matters worse, we never received any refills, and the soda options were very limited. We didn't see our waitress at all until it was time for the check. Overall, our experience was quite lackluster, and I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to others.

Always a great experience at the Nags Head Cafe. We come at least on e when we're at the OBX. Staff are always friendly and service is great even when they're short staffed. They always go the extra mile. Nice local cafe that offers good food. We come fro breakfast and really love it. Biscuits are the best on the island. My wife loves the grits. We'll come back anytime we're in the area for the food and friendly faces.

The food tasted amazing. The service was good. The only downfalls are that their lattes (pictured) are tiny for $6.50. They also do not serve water to drink unless you would like to purchase bottled water. Overall great experience.

Nags Head Cafe is a great little family- owned place to have a delicious breakfast or lunch! Last week my husband, grandson, daughter and I had lunch twice there and enjoyed it tremendously! Their fresh catch sandwich was Cobia and was seasoned well and quite delightful. They do a nice smoothy which my grandson enjoyed both times. Service was excellent! Our server, Marisol, was friendly and upbeat- a pleasurable experience! 5 Stars!!

Had a nice breakfast today. I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich, I guess I should have asked for the bread to be toasted. Breakfast potatoes from a bag pre cooked . Nothing special. Monte christo was kind of soggy not crispy. Service was good .

Overpriced. Paid $40 for a kids pizza (20 layers of cheese on bread; "pizza") and a chicken sandwich that couldn't be finished. In order to get fries you have to pay more otherwise you get stale chips. You have to pay additionally for a slice of cheese. You have like 3 soda options. Food has no taste or seasonings to it. Service was hardly there. Just enough to put the order in. By the end of it we just ended up leaving hungry. Save your money and take it to somewhere that is worth it.*also, based on the owners responses to the other low reviews on here I fully expect a rude response instead of taking our experience and providing better service for others or even an apology. Must be the restaurant theme in the outer banks - to be rude.*
