N N Crab Shack

A lifesaver in the Northern Neck area. My family and I were staying at an airbnb and the closest grocery store (Walmart) was almost 20 minutes away. A decent gas station/corner market with basic necessities and even fishing bait too. With the lack of restaurants around, we grabbed some hot meals for takeout (softshell crab and fish sandwiches, steamed shrimps, etc.) I would skip on their frozen pretzel with crab meat on top. I didn't see an official website but they are active on Facebook with their latest operating hours and crab specials. (https://m.facebook.com/NNCrabshack/).

Cute little spot that recently opened... good customer service and delish crabs... there are a couple of things in the freezer to take home. Steaks for the grill. Everything is to go, no seating..

The best seafood salad I have ever tasted. They have a soft pretzel with crab on it that is really great ! I bought one of their pre ordered homemade cakes . It was delicious. They have many things to offer in their deli . Very friendly people, nice homey atmosphere. I live nearby and it's lovely to have such a nice snack place in the vicinity.

Was not having much luck catching crabs at our rental so looked to buy some live crabs. Called and was told sm/ med $20, large/extra large $40. Asked for 2 dozen lge/ xlge. When we picked them up crabs on top looked good. Unfortunately only 1\2 were large ( no extra large). The rest were as small as the ones we were catching and throwing back - not sure about the rules in VA but in MD those are illegal . . . and some were females : (Not saying that they can' t provide good crabs but this MD girl buys lots of crabs and they screwed up. Would have had a whole lot more business from us this week but cannot trust that they will deliver what they are charging for
