Montagna's Shoes is a local family owned and operated shoe store that has been in business for over a hundred years. I haven't been a customer all of that time but I've been a coming to Montagna's since I moved to the area in 1994. I've favored shoes by San Antonio Shoemakers since my teens so when I moved to the area I was happy to find a retailer that carried SAS shoes. I have wide feet and shopping in most shoe stores has been problematic for me as most simply do not have shoes that fit me properly. According to Montagna's website they specialize in comfortable shoes in hard to fit sizes and widths. I have found this to be true for me. I am so happy to have a local shoe store where I can find shoes that fit me in stock. Montagna's carries other quality brands besides SAS, my wife has been happy with a pair of New Balance shoes she bought here some years ago. For me, I prefer SAS for the exceptional quality, comfort and durability they provide. You can certainly find more inexpensive shoes but considering the quality and how long the shoes here last I am very happy with the provided value.Conveniently located in Pembroke Meadows Shopping Center on Independence Boulevard in Virginia Beach, there is always plenty of free parking available in the large private lot shared with the rest of businesses located there. The parking lot and businesses appear well maintained. The staff at Montagna's is always friendly and very helpful, shopping there or calling them on the phone is always a pleasant experience. I will continue to shop with them for all my footwear needs.

Everyone we spoke with by phone (to get directions and necessary paperwork) and those we spoke with in the store were extremely friendly and very helpful While we waited our turn we could see the staff treat other customers with great attention, making sure each customer was satisfied before they left the store. They did the same for my husband who has difficulty getting shoes in his size that also meets his specific needs. They went to great lengths to get the kind of shoes he needed thinking outside the box to accommodate him. A wonderful place, wonderful staff! We gladly recommend them to anyone!~Sandra Cruz

Front desk was rude and did not want to provide service unless it was cupcake day. Yes that was their own words. Yes it may be funny, but majority of their clients are diabetic like myself don't really have a sense of humor. They already billed my insurance without service rendered. No fitting and no shoe. Refuse to reimburse my insurance. I had issues before with the same ladies in the past year. Once they change the front desk maybe I'll return.

I have been here 2 times. Customer service is good. They only sell American made products. They carry shoes, bags and accessories for the shoes. They also make custom ortho insoles!

Not a very helpful group of people when it comes to the elderly. Not willing to put in the little extra that they need sometimes

This is only the second pair of shoes I've bought from them. Got the first ones about 7months ago and wear them everyday at my retail job. They are so comfortable and they gave me a good fit. The employees are super helpful and I love the personal service. At 70 years of age, I am finally trying to treat myself well. And the really nice athletic SAS shoes are part of that self care. Recommend Montagnas to anyone who likes personal, friendly, knowledgeable service.

Went to purchase shoes for work, since I stand long hours working in healthcare. One staff member did greet my husband and I when we came in and said she would help us once she completed with her current customer. There was another gentleman completing a transaction for another customer and once he was done, he proceeded to answer the phone and help people that called in, instead of helping patiently waiting in store customers (me and my husband). They made no eye contact, made no effort to help or anything. Very disappointing in this day and age.

A number of years ago I had heard about this store for people with foot problems. I walked in the store w/o an appointment even though there were a number of people there who had appointments. I had plantar faciitis in one foot and was fitted with a New Balance Sneaker in which they took out the original footbeds and replaced them with Lynco orthopedic footbeds and heel cups which allowed me to walk comfortably again ...... not cheap but well worth being able to walk comfortably again until the problem went away. More recently I happened to go there to fix a problem with a right foot Clarks shoe and they inserted a tongue pad GRATIS which fixed the loose shoe !!

The shoes were not worth the price. The customer service I experienced while shopping for the shoes was excellent. I do not wish to speak badly of the employees, however the shoes I spent over $100 on did not last past one season. After approximately two months of wear the soles came unglued. After 4 months of wear the strap broke. When I took them back to the store, Montagna's sent them out to repair the strap at not cost to me, but said they were unable to glue to soles back in place. This confused me since they glue heal lifts into shoes all the time. The bottom line is, I spent more than twice what I normally would on a pair of shoes and the quality was not worth the cost.
