First time here and there are some pros and cons but all in all a good local place for sushi. We opted for the sushi sashimi special for 2 and for $87 I expected better quality. We had the lover roll and the rainbow special.The side salads had a dressing on them that's great. We returned two salads that's we didn't eat. The miso soup on the other hand was good. We got the little one Thai fried rice with chicken, tasted good but it certainly wasn't Thai. It had carrots and peas with bell peppers and fried onions on top.

Exceptionally good chef's sashimi for one. The taste and aroma and texture of the spicy tuna roll was the best I have had. The toasted sesame was prominent and also the chewiness of the rice and seaweed all were distinct. The salmon sashimi was also very buttery and flavorful. Also great presentation. I have lived several years in San Francisco and San Diego and this quality is top tier for sure. My new favorite place when I come visit home.

One word.... Amazing!!! This restaurant is amazing! You walk in and everything is just so beautiful! Was not expect to walk into a restaurant this pretty! Service was also top notch! So kind and friendly. The food was amazing! I wish I could have tried more of the sushi rolls but the one I didn't have was so fresh and tasty! Definitely worth a try!

Flavors were very fresh, clean and just enough for lunch. We had the Masago, takoyaki, a sushi roll not sure but delicious, hibachi chicken teriyaki, miso soup and fresh salad with ginger,dressing. Service was immediate. The takoyaki was not cooked through situation immediately remedied, sushi rolls not so tight but very fresh, and the Masago was a great new treat for my palate. They did not have uni (urchin) so if you want, you should call ahead. Bring your own black vinegar if you use it. Goes great with any sushi.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is very streamline chic. I went during a week night, and the restaurant seemed pretty busy. I am all about tempura, so most of the time I order a tempura dish. I am usually on the hunt for the right tempura batter verses beer batter. And behold they have the perfect tempura batter. It had the flaky Penko flakes nice light and crunchy on the outside. Finally found it! Yummy!, And of course the rest of the dishes ate just as tasty! It's definitely one of my permanent stops!

The "fast food" of Tai food. Ambiance is ok. A little more Tai feel would be nice. Service: horrible! They seemed pissed that we showed up. Repeatedly threw plates on the table while on the run to stand and stare into space. Server failed to bring basics, like a straws with the cold drinks. Getting a follow up was agonizing slow. Food: a complete fail. Don katsu cold, dry and unpalatable, paired with a fake sauce. Tai tea was a powder package. Teriyaki beef was also disgusting. I think it was a substitute meat of some kind. I'm sorry, but not sorry, the place is a fail for descent Tai food.

I am a regular at Mikado now and every single time it is an excellent experience. Last night I tried the Fried Cheesecake and it was epic! Please try it! When you go for the first bite the cheese oozes and the outer layer taste is delightful. The staff at Mikado is extremely hardworking and friendly. I've never seen such an attentive staff. They are awesome and they express gratitude to their customers. Like always the place is spotless clean. Parking is plentiful and the location is accessible. The ambience is great with fun music, a relaxing space with beautiful natural decor and lights. The sushi bar is really big and super clean. I love Mikado!

Last minute "to go" decision - Boom, Outstanding!! Ordered Chicken/Cashews, Pineapple/Chicken and Mongolian Beef. All three were amazing. Service (packaging) was very well done, much better than what is normally done elsewhere. While inside, my wife said the inside was clean and very cute - she wants to go back and have dine in. Can't wait to try the other dishes but we will keep having those three dishes - they were so good.Thank you for a great experience!!
