The motel is located at the end of a trailer park. It has a restaurant and a store beside it, but never have the chance to go in and take a look. Overall, this place is pretty old and pricy. It was 100 bucks for a night. However, it was clean and the marina definitely added some charm to it.

This was my second visit to the Marina while transiting the Atlantic ICW by boat. Both experiences were very pleasant. The owner is a real down to earth nice guy and runs a simple, clean and friendly place. We ate at Crabbies on our first trip, enjoyed it thoroughly. The second trip we couldn't eat there because it was not open that day. There are not many choices in Coinjock and I have no problem choosing Midway. Norm from Cape Cod.

This was my first time to this hotel and I would advise anyone that is looking for a place not to go here. The room was covered with ants and not that clean and the hotel was old and unkept. The only nice thing was the pool.

I give this place one star because it is the least available. It hasn't been updated in decades, including the pillows and linens- yikes! Disgusting. No screen on the door to the balcony, so not able to leave it open to rid the stale air inside. Only one lamp which had no switch, so had to plug it in to turn it on. But worse was that I itched and scratched all night, so sleep was nonexistent. How they reconcile charging the high cost for this dump is puzzling. It does offer functional Internet and cable and was clean enough, but it was hard to focus on either while distracted by such creepiness and shabbiness. I was quite disappointed and won't return. I still shudder at the possibility of what was causing constant itching. Margaret Oak Island NC

This is a review of Midway Marina, not the Motel. We tied up there and stayed for the night, on our boat, on September 16, 2013. Due to a variety of boat problems, we were a couple of days behind schedule, and running low on provisions. After we tied up, my "skipper" asked the guy in charge, a fellow named named Mark, if there was a grocery store nearby.Mark replied, "No, the closest is the Food Lion, about five miles away. But I can give you a ride."And he did. My skipper and I both piled into his Ford SUV with him, and he took us grocery shopping!I think it was farther than five miles. Ten, maybe. On the way, he talked about boats and his grandkids. While we shopped in the Food Lion, he waited for us in the adjacent Family Dollar store, and did a bit of shopping there. When we were done he took us back to our boat.He didn't ask for any payment, but my skipper gave him some gas money. What incredible, way-beyond-the-call-of-duty kindness to show a couple of complete strangers! The only disappointment was that Crabbie's Restaurant, next door, was closed. A friend back in Cary had told me to be sure to get the crab chowder at Crabbie's. "It's to die for," he said. But Crabbie's is open Wednesday through Sunday, and we were there on a Monday. Mark told us that the fellow who runs Crabbie's had a bout with cancer, and it slowed him down some, so he's only open 5 days a week, now.The physical facility at Midway Marina was okay, pretty much what you'd expect from a really small marina, except that we had to cross the canal to get diesel fuel. But the service at Midway Marina puts five-star hotels to shame.THANK YOU, Mark, from Vernon and Dave. I cannot recommend Midway Marina strongly enough.

When we called, we were given one rate and then they charged us MORE after our stay. I even called AND emailed about this, but they didn't fix it, nor did they respond to the email. Awful customer service. Also, be sure you ask for more than the ONE towel provided, even though they knew we had four people staying with us. If they had just fixed the issue with the cost of the room, I'd not given such a low rating. Will NEVER go back, and I will be sure I let people know not to go there.

I wish I could give this "motel" negative stars.. I don't even know where to begin. When we first walked in, I was instantly turned off. First off there were old, dirty looking bed spreads, the sheets were itchy, and the rug felt like it had kitty litter on it. Gross! We sucked it up and decided to stay Friday night because we were so tired and had a baby that had been in the car all day. We got maybe an hour or 2 of sleep the whole night due to loud neighbors. Yelling, screaming, drinking, and they had music (Eminem) blaring until 5 am. Needless to say, it was a shitty night for us and the baby. He woke up every time there would be yelling and doors slamming, and for those of you with babies, you know how bad that sucks. We left around 6am bc we were so fed up. Unfortunately we had reserved the room for the whole weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights) before we knew what a shit show it was. We called the owner of the motel on Saturday to complain and tell him we were going to stay elsewhere for Saturday and Sunday. He assured us, that the couple that was such a nuisance would not ever be allowed to return to the motel (that he would call them personally) and that he would comp us on Friday nights room if we would stay through our reservation. I don't know what we were thinking but we decided to give it one more shot. Well that was the worst decision we could have made. We went to sleep around 9pm, because like I said earlier, we have a baby and got no sleep the night before because of all the noise and partying. Around 11 we (my boyfriend, myself, and the baby) were woken up to violent sex. Slamming on the bed, screaming moans, and loud dirty talk. As gross as it is to be woken up to something like that, sex is sex, and we knew it had to end at some point. For about an hour after, it was almost silent, other than hearing mumbling talking. We thought that was a good sign. Well midnight rolls around, more violent sex, doors slamming again, and loud talking. The loud talking turned into fighting. Like actual fighting. Domestic abuse occurred in the room next to us. I was almost in tears. I heard loud threats (I will fng kill you, get the f out of here you fng slut, etc.) and the girl being choked before he finally made her get dressed and kicked her out of the room. They were both yelling as loud as possible for hours, screaming and cussing. After she left you would think he got quiet, but not so much. He got on the phone bitching to either the girl or a friend about what had just happened. He seemed to get more and more angry. We decided to leave at 4am because honestly, I was scared of the guy next to us. We called the owner when we left at 4am and no answer. We called again around 10am and his wife answered. I explained what happened and how upset we were that they blatantly lied about telling us that they were telling the couple to not come back. She proceeded to lie again and say that couldn't have happened bc there was only a 70 year old man staying in room 1 (which wasn't even near us). I said bullshit that it was the same couple because we noticed the same truck outside their room. She said "fine, you won't be charged" and practically hung up on me. Great customer service. If your "motel" is going to be that shitty, you atleast need to be nice to the few customers you have. Never again will I go back there and I will make sure to tell everyone I know, not to either. Worst 2 nights I've ever had in a hotel and I travel a good bit. Do not ever stay here, unless you more than likely want to be highly disappointed!!
