This was a fun family outing since everyone has traveled distances to be here for the holidays. Incredibly relaxing and delicious from start to finish. We snagged a cozy corner by the window with bench seats and cushioned chairs, which is a huge must for me. I don't understand how restaurants can have no cushions for their chairs. To start, we ordered, cocktails, and mocktails; the house named butter wash, bourbon, drink the MCK and the jalapeño passionfruit mule. Everyone at the table agreed that both were delicious and spot on for the occasion. We were also thrilled with our complementary bread and an addicting honey butter spread. You could literally put this on anything and make it taste better. For appetizers again, we were not disappointed. We ordered the pork belly, the butternut squash bisque, the Burrata and sourdough toast, and the salmon belly avocado egg roll. We shared and enjoyed them all; IMO the Burrata sourdough toast was the winner with the bisque in second but my husband and one of my sons might have put the pork belly first lol. The salmon belly was good, but it just wasn't on par with the complexity and depth of flavors for the others. For dinner three of us ordered the butter poached fillet, the dill crusted salmon in the bone in pork chop (which is a very elegant Thanksgiving feast on a plate). Everyone enjoyed their entrées, but I think my salmon was a winner overall for a majority because of the accompanying smoked bacon, horseradish cream, and savory cabbage. Although MCK can run on the pricier side, we all felt the entrées were a decent size. Enough so that we didn't feel like we could partake in the tasty sounding desserts. If you wanna keep the price down, you could definitely share pretty much all the appetizers and of course

Checked availability right before we arrived and saw that they had 3 open spots tonight. Was told at the door we could only be seated at the bar. Fine. Then was told we need to eat and get out in an hour. Not great but fine. Then was told it would be 75 bucks per person for prix fixe. I could afford that but at this point it was clear they simply didn't want us as their clientele. It's a shame, we used to eat here all the time when they were new and we tipped well. Not anymore!

11/6/2024: Everything about this evening was perfection! So glad to revisit MCK where everything is elevated and symphonic. Our girls dinner started with pork & shrimp dumplings in pork broth, salmon belly egg roll, and smoked beef tenderloin tartare. All apps were delish but the beef tartare stole the show as well as being a great shareable. Entrees were rockfish with summer succotash and lobster cream, fried calamari with squid ink pasta in a basil espuma, and butter poached filet with brown butter broccoli purée. Whoa! I was unable to choose a favorite as each dish was so incredibly well executed. Finished once again with all three desserts, strawberry basil cake described by our party as 'summer in a bowl' ,blackberry thyme pots de creme (this girl loves her custard!), and spiced chocolate ganache with coffee ice cream and chocolate crumbles.. very rich but very good!Another amazing dinner with amazing friends. Thank you MCK for your consistently outstanding service and your creatively delicious offerings.

Excellent food. It's a coursed restaurant so you order everything at once. Timing is perfect and the food is made to order. This is a fantastic place to spend your money and time. Sure not to disappoint. The service is on point and very knowledgeable. We have eaten there probably 10 times. Always a crowd pleaser.

A hidden gem in a little strip mall, this definitely feels like a place to go to celebrate. My mother and I were delighted by every dish (and demolished the bread and honey butter of course) and enjoyed both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options. The service was excellent and very pleasant as well. This particular venture we shared the salmon egg roll (perfectly cooked with a lovely crunch on the outside and balanced well with the smooth acid of the avocado and citrus), the pork belly (the lone issue the whole evening - delicious and beautifully cooked but difficult to cut even with my steak knife), the papardelle with a smooth meaty Bolognese, and the absolutely splendid duck. The raspberry and coconut desserts were lovely as well, but I think the raspberry made it for best of the two.Absolutely worth a return trip.

How is it possible that Midlothian Chef's Kitchen continues to out do itself? I'm a regular here, and the dishes get better and better with each visit. We had two new dishes to add to our favorites which makes it harder to decide what we will have when we eat here. MCK is all about the nice touches...brass nameplates for regulars at the table, the same server who knows our likes and dislikes and makes recommendations that are perfect, and an atmosphere fitting for all occasions. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant!

I'm a huge fan of this chef and this spot is testament to why. Delightful, artful, thoughtful menu that is seasonal and delicious. Don't get attached to anything on the menu because it won't be there next time. The honey butter is worth the trip on its own and you can buy a tub on your way out.I think you'll like it. Give it a shot.

DH asked where I wanted to go for my birthday and I asked to come to MCK. He was not familiar with the place. But once he looked at the website, he was as excited as I was to try it. I am delighted to say we had a lovely evening. We started off with a smart cocktail. I had The MCK, their take on an old fashioned (delicious). DH has a bourbon neat. For our starter, we enjoyed their charcuterie platter, which had a few of the usual suspects and a few new surprises (persimmon jam, y'all!). For our mains, DH had the rockfish with a truly lovely lobster cream sauce. I opted the duck breast, which was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes are filling without being too much. After dinner, I was too full for dessert. But if I had, it would have been the hazelnut creme brûlée.The interior of the restaurant is minimalist and elegant without being stark. Service was excellent. In all, it was a perfect restaurant for a special occasion, or any occasion, really!

Have been coming for a few years and I'm not ever disappointed by the flavors. The only disappointing thing about this space is the fact that they've discontinued brunch service. The brunch was impeccable, and hopefully they'll bring it back soon. The ambience is beautiful and gracious. Sunny days are perfect on the deck and inside is great for a family or girls' night out photo op.The menu changes often, but literally order anything. The pairings are perfectly curated to combine seasonal flavors and complimenting spices and ingredients.I'm not heavy on ordering drinks, but the most recent time I was here, I actually ordered a cocktail and it was beautifully executed! MCK, you don't miss!

The food, drinks, atmosphere are incredible. Great for date nightMy wife sat at the bar and chatted with bartender. The bartender was the designer behind many of the drinks, and they were great. We did stick with cocktails and they seem to change on a regular basis. The food was surprisingly delightful. Each dish and appetizer felt crafted and tasted delish. I don't think there was bad thing on the menu. Soup dumpling and carbonara were the stars. If you find yourself anywhere near Midlothian, it is worth visiting.
