The chimichanga was good but my rice was crunchy. It took 45 minutes to receive our food while the restaurant was empty.

I went to Mi Tierra Mayas twice just to give it a fair shot but sadly didn't redeem themselves. Both times we did take out instead of dinning in. The restaurant itself is far too loud with music which made it hard to have a conversation with my husband. Not a big deal but preferred to not dine in. Both times service was extremely slow. Over an hour when you're hungry and still have to make it home to eat your food was kind of hard. The food--the first time we got tacos, beef and chicken. They were ok. Not great but pretty decent. The second time we ordered the "Parrillada Catracha". It's a platter that has grilled chicken, pork chop, steak, chorizo, shrimp, rice, beans, avocados, and cheese. It's feeds about 5 people. Sounds amazing but it didn't live up to the hype. Most of the meats were hard to chew with no flavor at all. What bothered me the most was the lack of attention. My husband does not eat seafood and we specifically stated to NOT add in shrimp. When we got home, what do you know? Shrimp! We just ended up throwing most of it away. Now, I know a lot of complaints with the staff that there's a language barrier because they don't speak much English, which is true, however we spoke Spanish! And there was still that lack of attention in our service. Very disappointing. I don't see us going back for a third try.

Got nachos and a quesadilla to go. Very fresh food, the nachos were crispy and perfect, the steak quesadilla was also fire. Would recommend

My husband asked for a strawberry margarita and this is what he got. The waitress didn't speak English so she didn't understand what we were asking for. Asked for salsa and never got any. Wouldn't take a credit card for payment. It didn't say anything about not excepting credit cards. Luckily we had cash. The food was good just the service needs some work.

If you cannot speak Spanish, not many people here can speak English. I asked for a shit of Lunazul and after trying to translate between 3 people, was given a drink with ice for $22. The only people who could soak English was the security. But to their credit they did laugh when I walked in. I assume they knew what I was walking into, but wanted the money.

Screw all these bad reviews... This place was the best Mexican restaurant I have been to! Yeah, the service was slow but damn... the food that came out was FANTASTIC!!!! Try it for yourself. By the way... I don't speak Spanish either and yeah, they hardly speak English, but I'm not there for a Spanish lesson, I'm there for good Mexican food and that's what I got AND MORE!!!! No joke.

Mi Tierra Maya's Mexican Grill has amazing food - fresh, tasty & good looking, I had a Maya Salad with grilled shrimp & grilled chicken, my son had Fajita nachos covered in fresh peppers, onions & incredibly tasty grilled chicken. The atmosphere welcoming with a little bar area, awesome step-up booths & a good size dining area. Prices were reasonable & salsa & white sauce just as good as the delicious food which was one of the best we've ever had in Mexican. We can't wait to go back - highly recommend for authentic & great flavors.

Our server was really quick to seat us and serve us our chips and drinks. We ordered enchiladas and the taquitos flautas (on the appetizer menu). I got my enchiladas but my fiancé got an order of three tacos. We asked what had happened and were told they were the taquitos we had ordered....? Not rolled, not fried, not anything but an open street taco. He even deliberately asked us if she was okay with corn tortillas before we got the order. The tortillas were flour on the plate. So someone messed up, which is fine, but being lied to our face and given something we didn't order isn't a good way to do business. We may try again sometime and see if this place can redeem itself. The food overall was just okay as well, not our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Two stars for poor customer service and very average food.

This was actually my first time at this restaurant. It was a little late in the evening and we were craving Mexican food. We went online too see what was open late. And this one popped up! It's on little creek road and Chesapeake blvd. And it's across from CVS. I can't remember if it was east or west. But you'll see the address on their website. Lol! So back to what I was saying.I've drove pass this place a couple of times. But never had the urge to try it out. But it was late like I said. We were craving Mexican food. When we walked in the place looked pretty nice inside. The outside looks a little run down. Because the building has been there forever. It's in a little strip mall. But inside looked pretty nice. Our waiter was a young guy. He was pretty friendly. Customer service was not great. But it was just ok. Now the food was ok. The only thing that was wrong was the rice. The rice was stale. It was extremely hard/ crunchy. It felt uncomfortable to chew. It might have been a day old. But over all the restaurant was a cute little hang out spot if you want a quick bite too eat. And your craving tacos and etc. Just don't go late in the night. The rice may not be fresh.Prices are ok. Their menu is a little different from the other Mexican restaurants I have been too. But HEYYYY try them out! You never know you may like it!

Had high hopes for this place, looks like an authentic spot from the outside. When our party of 5 walked in we stood for a few minutes before being told to just sit anywhere. We picked a booth and it moved every time we moved. Took longer than 10 minutes after we ordered waters to get them, but still didn't get our kids waters. Ordering was hard, seemed like the waitress didn't know the menu. We cancelled to leave and they had to "call to cancel our order", it was being made somewhere else and brought to the restaurant. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
